I just finished 'Split Second Chance' last night. 'Kin awesome. Eduardo Risso is a class act, his use of shadow and silhouette are brilliant and his line work is super clean.

Ordered 'Hang up on the hang low' just now.

I'm rather pleased I've got so many more still to read.

Seeing how often your name crops up in the credits for the new Zarjaz/Dogbreath/Futurequake issues I'm not surprised you didn't have the time your Lordship. Glad you enjoyed them, we've got some accomplished wordsmiths amongst the heaving ranks of the forum.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to vote. I'm going to sort out the winners on Tuesday evening once I get back from work. I'll post a finish to the voting before I do a results thread.

Teething problems, that's all it is. A bit of fettling and everything will be ticketyboo.

Mind you, I do think we should keep 'Emergency Cake Comp' as a fall back option. Just in case.

"Funny as fuck".
Brian Sewell in the 'Fine Arts Review'.

Nice work Ben.

Fascinating to finally discover how Lovecraft fomented his Cthulu mythos.

Yes. Yes, I'm afraid that is a bad idea Shark. Your other ideas, good. That one, bad.

Yeah. As it turns out Thursday night wasn't the best choice for ending the comp but it's on my list of things to forget next time.

Thanks to everyone who's stories made this a decent competition, the standard was unreal, though I shouldn't be surprised by that considering the loquacity of my fellow board members.

I'm definitely up for doing another writing comp of some sort but would like to hear others ideas on how we can improve on this first attempt. Shorter stories? Longer stories? Scripts? What do people think?

Oh, and the voting deadline was extended for that exact reason Mike. Nyaahah.

That's a good idea Shark. I'm happy to go with whatever people think will make this a workable endeavor. My original idea was for something along the lines of the art comp but for writing. So that was the model. The first story brief was, in retrospect, not entirely inspirational but I thought it might apply to pretty much any character. Kind of worked but it definitely needs some tweeking.

Or the careful application of a clubhammer.

Voting is extended till Monday evening due to the overwhelming response.

Seriously folks, they're not long stories, it won't take you long to read them, you don't have to read them all in one go and you never know you might even enjoy some of them.

Cheers Kerrin.

Quote from: "Bolt-01"I love making comics.
And I'm bloody glad you do Dave. I've been getting into the bumper bag of Zarjaz's you sent me and they're triffic. My hearty congratulations to yourself, RAC and all the other fine men and women who create them. Top notch work all round and some of the artwork is gobsmacking. I'm up to issue 4 at present and there have been a few of the scripts that have made me laugh like a drain. You fine people keep making them and I'll keep buying them.

I'm going to order the latest Zarjaz and Dogbreath and also get as many back issues as poss of Dogbreath. How far back have you  got them?
