Well, the price is likely set to drop on the DS in the next few months & I'd definitely recommend it when it does. I was a bit disappointed to note that the Micro didn't support older GB titles, but I suppose the remodelling comes at a price. I'm going to pick up one of the new GBA SPs at some point - the models with the new, brighter screen - so I can start trawling through the GB/GBColour back catalogue.

I've seen mixed reviews of PD0 but, given that many people were forced to review from early, buggy code because it was being worked on right to the last minute, it's difficult to know how much was improved for the release version. The Edge review hit on something that puts me off - namely, that the single-player mode is fairly light and not particularly well designed. While I enjoy multiplayer gaming, I still get the most out of the single-player modes - and the original PD had a pretty strong single-player campaign - so I can't see a game slanted in favour of multiplayer being my thing.

Well, there is that to consider. However, this is supposed to be a home console, not a piece of delicate lab equipment. It should be able to cope with a certain level of mistreatment/misuse without fritzing, and I would hope that the engineers would have taken that into consideration.
I suspect the old saw about never buying the first version of any piece of hardware is accurate enough - it's the version the marketing department want out, not the version the engineers are happy with.
