Indeed - though the great appeal of the 'Hearts has always been that (often self-destructive) determination to do their own thing.

Oh, and "Shut Your Fucking Mouth & Use Your Fucking Brain" is both great advice and a great song title :-)

Cool - I'll give it a pop. I know it's bending the rules a bit, but here are two things I'd recommend, one old & one new:

The Wildhearts - Earth Vs...

'Fraid not, but you could try hunting around Google & Google Image for "Numskulls", which is - IIRC - the correct name for the strip...

Fuck - sorry, Cosh. Too easy to get carried away talking about earlier events without realising that other readers might not yet have read those stories. ..

The only people who seem to know his identity are the Tsar, whoever recovered him from the wreckage of the Potemkin & tended to him while his crest rebuilt his broken body and, of course, Jocasta Romanov, who Konstantin revealed himself to at the conclusion of "The Romanov Empire".

It's obvious he'll be unmasked at some point, which should make for a cracking scene...

Fresh from a re-read of "The Romanov Empire"...

The scene that I was thinking of doesn't seem to clearly show any transfer, but it does include Dmitri telling Arkady he regretting that he was denied his inheritance when Dante bonded with the crest. He then takes Arkady in his arms and we see a close-up of Dmitri's crest fading from his arm. When the Tsar arrives, he talks briefly with Dmitri - still very much himself - before Dmitri takes his own life.

It certainly seems that Dmitri didn't become Arkady in some way, but it does appear that he did transfer his crest to him. That still leaves some interesting unanswered questions, though - what does Dmitri's crest do? Is the Tsar aware that his young ward bears a crest now? And - as seems likely - is Arkady just biding his time, working from within to topple the Conqueror?

Dmitri simply shot himself in the head

I'm still not sure Dmitri did die - wasn't there some suggestion, either in the comic or on the board, that he may have used his crest to "transfer" himself to Arkady? I really must re-read that story soon...

Dred's reaction to Fargo's alleged affair in that story was absolute stark horror, and now we hear that he knew all about another affair all along...

The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive - he could have been horrified by the alleged affair at the time, but since discovered more about Fargo's life.

However, on re-reading today's episode it does say that Fargo was seen again "after the war," so maybe Wagner has some clever explanation up his sleeve

I'd imagine we could be looking at "Fargo" - the mythical Father of Justice - actually being a clone of the real Fargo, bred after the original committed suicide. If that is the case, it raises some interesting questions - not least whether Dredd was cloned from Eustace Fargo, or whether he was cloned from the clone.

Of course, the other possibility is that Ephram took on Eustace's identity and became "Fargo" in the same way Kraken became "Dredd" - the parallels would be interesting, with both men perhaps being thought of lesser than the original, but taking on the mantle for the good of the city.

Games / Re: BULLY'S in uniform.

Yup, Bully - or Canis Canem Edit as it's been retitled for the Euro market - is surprisingly good. It's very derivative of the now-classic GTA format (unsurprising, given its pedigree) but it's executed with a lot of charm & attention to detail, and in putting you in the (school) shoes of a pretty sympathetic character & rewarding you for protecting classmates from bullies it goes a long way toward defusing the criticism that's been slung its way.

I'm still not entirely comfortable with the content. If you actually stop to think about what you're doing in-game & the manner in which it's presented, there is something a little unsettling - imagine Scum played for laughs & you might have an idea of why I find it slightly dubious.

It's certainly an interesting game, and the opening gameplay sequence that asks the player to enter an unfamiliar school & make their way to the head's office, all the while walking past groups of children talking about the "new boy" or getting jeered at by jocks, is a strangely authentic experience.

Moaning about unrealistic breasts in Heavy Metal is like complaining that Commando is full of Nazis...

Well, the clearest example on that sample page is in the central panel where the "camera" is looking at the character from the back. Her breasts (as well as being ludicrously disproportionate) appear to be floating in mid-air, or perhaps they're suspended by some invisible bra...

At looks okay to me. Nothing wrong with being different

Oh, not at all. I just find this disappointingly bland and characterless after Ledroit - and it has a bad case of "floating tits" that's guaranteed to irritate me ;-)

Pretty bad, yeah.

Sometimes I wonder if Tharg has been keeping up with maintenance on his Automatic Pun Generator, 'cos there have been some awfully ripe ones recently ;-)
