General / Re: TP trouble in the USA............

Whoops, Boy is my face red.

But no, I definitely didn't get the names wrong when searching through the Diamond Release lists. And if they don't appear on the Diamond release list they aren't out over here. And Amazon.com is a joke when it comes to Rebellion TP releases. The fact is, the 2000AD TPs are imports and as such are a BEAR to find over here if you miss them the first go around.

And it costs a FORTUNE to import, because of the Weak Dollar to Strong Pound, plus shipping. That's why I don't bid on UK E-Bay auctions any more. Because a 3 Quid winning bid suddenly balloons into about 30 bucks

This week will see Judge Dredd Case Files 7 and Slaine: The Time Killers arriving in the US for me to savor and devour. And this is great. But there's one problem...

Storming Heaven The Simon Frasier Collection and Caballistics Inc.: Freakshow NEVER CAME IN LAST MONTH!

This is bugging me something fierce as Diamond is really the only way to get any of these books reliably over here.  And it's not that they never got shipped to my shop. They never appeared on the Diamond Shipping lists over the last two months and I know for a fact they're A)Out in the UK and B)Were solicited in Previews the month before Slain and Case Files 7.

I hope it was a shipping mixup and both books will show up soon, I just don't want to see them get passed by and never show up over here at all.

Are these reprint collection books the standard way of getting US comics in the UK? Or is it's just one of those formats that just popular with the UK newsagent crowd?

Because a big thick monthly reprint book with a linked theme (in this case Batman) sounds like a fantastic way to deliver comics to the masses in general. I'd love to see something like that published over here.

I thought the whole point of Rogue Trooper was to be a Vietnam parable? With other world conflicts thrown in for flavoring.

I know for a fact we're getting Slughterbowl soon, because it was solicited in Diamond Previews as such. I thought it was for issue 22, but it could be for 23 (though Hipster is saying it something else...)

Yeah, I also heard that the original VC's was getting the TP treatment early next year.

Can't wait, I loved the Reboot and I really want to read the original.

For an idea for the EE...

Uh... I really want to read Insiders (from Crisis) if only to add it to my Paul Grist collection.

Speaking of Crisis, would there be anything of note from Crisis/Revolver/Toxic worth an EE or two?

Savage is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I have high hopes for Greysuit. Beyond that however, I have to agree that Mills might be a little past his prime, ABC Warriors, Black Siddha, and (Books of Invasion)Slaine really are unmemorable when you get right down to it, pretty art aside. So I don't want him to retire, it sure would be nice if his work was more focused in the near future.

Books & Comics / Re: Dredd: Case Files

Is it me or does this question pop up about once a month?

I'm banking on smaller books, full color, but cheaper paper then the usual color TPs. When the Prog went color didn't it still use newsprint/near-newsprint paper?
