QuoteAnyone involved in Before Watchmen is a scab in my eyes,

Yeah, you're not using that word right.

The word you are looking for is 'sellout'.

Which scabs are we talking about here? Do you just not care for the New 52 or something? Cause that's fair. But calling out creators for being scabs, when in fact that term doesn't apply... seems weird.

QuoteWeekly Shonen Jump #50: Naruto ends with a colour chapter and some questionable gender politics. I won't miss it, but I do respect Kishimoto for being able to write a story for 17 years on end.

Let me tell you a story about a man named Erik Larsen....

Well, keep in mind ComiXology isn't meant for reading CBRs. Its just a platform to read comic bought via ComiXology.

That said, any comics I buy on ComiXology that are DRM-Free. I read in Chunky.

Hooooly shit. Image's Tooth & Claw #1 by Kurt Busiek might be the best single issue of 2014*.  Absolutely magical, and probably directly in the wheelhouse of any 2000 AD fan. Get it. Get it now!

*move the fuck over Mega Man 35!

QuoteNot a fan myself. It's very bitty. While there are some good ideas and the art is fantastic I was frustrated by the lack of actual story.
From a world building point of view it didn't sit right with me that the catch all term for animal/human hybrids would be Elephantmen.

I think 'Elephantmen' has more to do with their relative size, rather then their particular species.

Issue 50 is a pretty good jumping on point. But there are also some really decent collected editions too. The Mamoth edition vol 1 collects 24 or 25 issues in one whack.

Detective noir mixed with uplifted animals and social commentary about racism and PTSD.

it's not really obscure as it's won a bunch of awards and has run 55+ issues.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood Part 2 hit Amazon Kindle and ComiXology this week btw. Last volume stopped at a really annoying portion of the story, as I'm pretty sure the next chapter concluded the arc.

Yeah, Digest or 'Manga' sized. And yeah, I can't imagine it being the best size for decent reproduction of those older strips.

But whatever the kids are into these days, I guess it can't hurt!
