Also, has anyone else noticed that ONE-PUNCH MAN seems to have gone weekly all of a sudden?

Not that I'm complaining mind...

EDIT 6: And I do have to say, this final FINAL showdown in Naruto has been actually tolerable and sensemakeable. Still happy to see it go, but I'm glad its going out on a higher note then its been the last two years.

Also, Dismemberment.

I enjoyed this latest chapter of FOOD WARS significantly more then I expected to. Its cliche ridden, but it is quite accessible.

And holy shit, this arc of WORLD TRIGGER was honestly more enjoyable then it had any right to be.

QuoteTwo aspiring manga artists sit across from one another, incredibly bored.

"We need to think of the most generic, by-the-numbers manga we can so we can get published in Shonen Jump and make millions of dollars," one says to the other.

"Okay," the other replies. "Let's just make a manga about kids fighting generic monsters. Those are always popular."

"Sure," says the other. "Let's have, like, the monsters come from some portal or something that opened up."

"Cool," he says. "let's call them 'Neighbors'! That's clever, right?"

"Damn right it's clever. And they fight these monsters with powerful weapons. And we'll call them 'Triggers' for some reason."

"Hey, works for me. We can call the manga 'World Trigger'! And the twist is that one of the main characters who fights these 'Neighbors' is himself a 'Neighbor' from the alternate plane!"

"And we'll explain all of this lame mythology with utterly lazy narration in the opening pages!"

Then the two of them danced around with mediocre glee.

"And it has a strange obsession with teenagers being dismembered."

I'd concede to some Floppy Reprints to wrap it up.

Oh so it's not a Vol 3 finishing off the Abnett / Williams stuff?  Sad face.

A final V.C.s volume? Yes please!

My. GOD.

Ever since I laid eyes on 3D Maneuver Gear the ONLY thing I keep thinking of is, 'Gee, I wonder how cool Spider-Man would be with a pair of swords fighting man-eating giants?'

Books & Comics / Re: The Zarjaz & Dogbreath Thread.

I know I've asked this before, but I've forgotten the answer.

If I was hypothetically writing a script for Zarjaz (or Dogbreath) what is the recommended length? Five pages? Unfortunately I've yet to get my hands on a physical copy (does a digital edition yet exist?) to just check for myself.

So Johnny Alpha's fair game again, eh? Wink.

Not actually going to draw Alpha.

Step one, kill all super-villains. Step two, kill all super-creeps. Step three, arrest Beyonder for wasting Judge's time.

Official Crossovers I would love to see...

Judge Dredd / Savage Dragon
Judge Dredd / Doctor Who
Judge Dredd / Hellboy
Judge Dredd / Godzilla

See I KNEW I recalled that having already happened. Though I suppose a version that's LESS of a self parody could be worth a second go around.

Though I suppose if you're going to do that, you might as well use the real deal.

The thing about Dreddworld is that... why not more homages? In the past we've seen 'Star Trek' and 'Doctor Who' with a Dreddworld spin.

Why not throw a 'Superman' at Mega City One and see what happens? At least then Dredd can cube/kill said intrusive creep and not get a convenient "he got whisked home at the last second".

Maybe a Super Solider from the Bob Booth era awakes to discover America a gross parody of itself?

This does remind me, I was once trying to write a Dredd/Astro Boy script for Zarjaz (or similar). I should get back on that.

And my Rogue Trooper/Armored Trooper Votoms script...  :-\

Books & Comics / Re: It all started with Trench coats.

One is T for Teen and the other is M for Mature.

The Constantine running around the New 52 DCU is the Constantine of the DC universe. He rubs elbows with Superman and Batman. And yes, he's a reboot version created with the New 52.

The Hellblazer version exists in his own singular world. If any DC heroes ever appeared then they are versions unique to Hellblazer and not really the ones nessisarily from their own titles.

I don't actually know any specific differences because I never read Hellblazer, nor read any comics Constantine is currently in. Or watch his new TV show (though I did see that Keanu flick). Buts it's pretty clear cut to me.

It's best to concider the Vertigo Hellblazer and the DCU Constantine as two similar but different characters.
