I too collect the above films Paul. My  favourite opening scenes are from Magnum Force and the brilliant *Dirty Harry!

*The opening sequence of a new unknown charactor as the titles roll and the excellent drum/jazz riffing is a complete tidal-wave of talent.No dialogue no big bursting out onto the screen.Very smoothly done.The cartridge pick up with an underwhelming pen manouvre and this is all we have to go on that this man is the lead role.Par-excellance.

They should have this Clocktower Sniper type of baddy who is holding Mega-City to ransom.It ends up with him about to massacre a schoolbuss full of children but dredd chases the perp to a munce crunching factory where he shoots him on a conveyer belt.He then throws his badge into a pond.
Themes will involve Judge Dredd dealing with Race issues.
The next one could have a bunch of corrupt cops wiping out criminals of all sorts.
Themes will involve justice issues.
Thirdly Dredd could have a FEMALE partner and she could help him to deal with his sex issues.
A fourth one would reprise justice issues and he could come to the aid of a rape victim.Being Dredd he still arrests her at the end of the film.
And finally Dredd deals with fame going up its own arse issues.
