I find it very hard to decide on who to vote for as my political beliefs are quite contradictory - most of my views are very leftist, but on some issues are very right wing. I don't slot neatly into any one party.

I think my survey results support this - 66% Green, 22% Tory and 11% Liberal.

I take it Sinfield survived the explosion then!

QuoteLooks like we're setting up for some redemption. Great Stuff.

Yeah, definitely. It's worth remembering that Dimitri's crest power is specifically designed to override that of all his children's, so I think it will take the combined efforts of Dante, Viktor, Lulu and Konstantin to bring him down. I'm convinced that we're going to see the reappearance of the White Army next week, too - how else is Dimitri going to take on the new republic?

To be fair it sounds like this is a dodgy single copy rather than a problem that affects the whole print run. Whoever sold it to you should do you a replacement.

QuoteAh, but we were 'appy then...

The concept of 'happiness' is a modern invention, surely? I would imagine that until relatively recently life for the vast majority of people was an endless, desperate struggle to simply scrabble together enough food to survive, interspersed with periods of literally unimaginable horror and suffering.

QuoteFor the most part, communities of people are perfectly capable of running their own affairs without everything turning into Mad Max.

I don't agree at all - I don't think it would take much at all for the facade of society to slip completely. I definitely subscribe to the Joker's philosophy that "when the chips are down, civilized people will eat each other".

I wish my view of humanity was as optimistic as yours!

QuoteFor millions of years, humans got by without needing to be told how to live by some almighty leader. Each tribe looked after itself, kept its own laws and customs, traded and cooperated with other tribes, occasionally went to war. It's all perfectly natural and there's no great trick to it.

For millions of years we also had famine, plague, genocide, invaders, slavery, widespread superstiton, a life expectancy of 30, no healthcare, no leisure time, no means of mass transport, no internet, no xboxes. I think I'm a lot happer with the way things are now.

QuoteThat and the fact that to set it up wwould have required knowledge of the fact that they were moving him.

No it wouldn't. It was being moved which saved him, by the looks of things.

Dredd is amazing. There is the slight issue that this arc so far has been a little devoid of action - people who aren't interested in Mega-politics and just want to see Dredd on the street cracking heads might be finding this series a little dull - but Wagner is the master at peppering these more subdued tales with enough big set pieces to keep things exciting, so I expect things to heat up in the next few episodes.

Again, it was the little character moments that did it for me - Sinfield grabbing Dredd's arm seemed almost poignant - he's such a despicable character but he is clearly in awe of Dredd on some level - I think his weaknesses are a lot to do with jealousy of Dredd and an inferiority complex. That all this is unspoken and conveyed so subtly shows the quality of the writing.

I reckon Sinfield will
survive the explosion
- anyone think the mutie terrorists might have been 'encouraged' by PJ?

Dante is awesome again - as with Dredd, very little is happening action-wise, but to those who have been reading from the start every single bit of dialogue in this episode carried so much weight. I'm looking forward to Dimitri's big 'here's how I did it' villain speech that will no doubt happen in next weeks episode!

Everything else is very good too. If I had to pick a least favourite it would be Zombo, which seems to be suffering a from a slight 'difficult second album' syndrome. It lacks the simplicity that made the first series so exciting.

Help! / Re: when did 2000ad prog go colour
12 April, 2010, 10:09:42 PM
For a while just one story was colour - initially this was Dredd, but then Slaine: The Horned God took the colour slot during its run - this is why Dredd switches between colour and B&W during the recent Case Files volumes.

Volume three is out of print currently, but will be reprinted soon.

Email Rebellion to hassle them about it - the more correspondence they get about it, the faster it will get reprinted.
