Low Life - because it's consistently good and got better and better as it went along.
Pausing to acknowledge that I did love the idea of a murder mystery with Nemesis and Deadlock as detective partners, but did not love it as much when it turned out to be a genereal skewering of various concepts of magic, while still basically saying "my magick is better than yours, nyah nyah."

No argument here - Killer is weirdly bland for a strip about a drunken space gladiator with a cool face mask.
Blackhawk is never drunk and doesn't wear a cool mask, but his gladiator battles were way more fun, and the his soul gets sucked out and he goes on some seriously WEIRD adventures.
If I'm honest I rate his Roman Britain-bound adventures from Tornado better (which are in the collected edition), but they don't count here do they?
Still, the 2000AD portion of his strip is more than enough to disptach today's opponent.

Blackhawk.

Max Normal. I do love me some playful dialogue.

QuoteYour mum's got a typo in her name! Hope it's not too late to tweak the cover.

Hah! Between telling me the publisher (I think we noticed in November) and them telling Amazon to use a new jpg
that'll be fixed in...
2023?

I shouldn't wonder if people get copies in French by mistake too. This is how the AIs are planning to take over - by annoying us to death

Is that dinosaur one by Jim Ottaviani? I've read a few of his comics, he's excellent, a real pioneer of non-fiction comics.

Also thanks! Hope you enjoy it.

So I'm guessing everyone here is into Science Fiction, but are you also into just plain science?

I've written a non-fiction comic about neuroscience - or at least, I've scripted a comics version of a whole bunch of scholarly work on neuroscience as done by my parents. It's illustrated by Dan Locke, and is published by Bloomsbury in March.

It's called Two Heads, and is now available for preorder...
(quite expensive, admittedly, but it's over 300 pages long and took us 5 years to make!)

Just found the most spot-on review of Red Razors:

QuoteThe first story was produced as the Soviet Union crumbled in 1991 and Vic and Bob were the hipster's TV show of choice, so perhaps it was briefly in touch with the zeitgeist, but that's long expired, and there's nothing to redeem the second. Genuinely, nothing.

-by Frank Plowright, host of the rather awesome Slings and Arrows comics review website (I still refer to the print version on my bookshelves, last produced 20 years ago)

Thanks Broodblik!
More to follow on Monday, when the results from the last Heats are in...

Luck of the draw, of course, but a few Quality Thrills have already fallen, and a few stinkers have crawled through...

Lost thrills that I think are worth anyone's time to read:
Scarlet Apocrypha (and you don't have to have read much Durham Red to appreciate it, either)
Young Middenface
Stone Island
Project Overkill
Angel Zero
Tiger Sun, Dragon Moon
Night Zero
