That sounds like a story worth telling in more detail... :)

Just as long as the clown stays out of the prog...

Well, yeah, *apart* from that. [facepalm] :)

I once bought a page of Ace Trucking from ebay, and was (if you can imagine such a thing) mildly disappointed to find it was actually an Ian Gibson page. As much as I love Gibson's work, Ace Trucking was Massimo's baby and it was (I imagine) akin to buying a non-Carlos Strontium Dog page. Still lovely, but somehow not quite right.

I always find making love to a beautiful woman over a period of several hours helps me relax and prepares me for a restful night's sleep.

Man, I'm tired...

Ah, it's just an advert. I'd be annoyed if it happened in one of the books, but an adverts easy to write off. If the marketing team behind Dredd movie struck a deal with Satan er, McDonalds, I don't think it would bother me overly. I wouldn't feel obliged to eat their ropey burgers just because the carton had a picture of everyone's favourite humourless lawman on it. Just as long as the clown stays out of the prog...

I'm in total agreement with the sentiments expressed here. Ron Smith was (and remains) one of 2000AD's defining artists, and an amazing draughtsman. His mega-citizens were a class apart and really brought home the insanity of the Big Meg.

I remember seeing his pre-Tooth work on King Cobra in the Hotspur (IIRC?) annuals as a little Bast, and recognised his style when I graduated to the prog.

I was a little disappointed to find that a lot of the fine detail in his work was not reproduced well in some of the early Case Files volumes, and would love to see a new print run that improves the quality of the scans on some of his episodes.

Seriously, though "E-Teen"? Sounds like grown-ups trying a little too hard to be hip with the youngsters, to me.

I'd still be interested in seeing the rest of the comic, though.

As per bloody usual, domestic "bliss" prevented me from getting to the Yap Shop. Looks like I might not have been able to get in anyway. So, who won?

Good call. Must pick that up after I'm done with Bioshock 2.

I've often wondered why comedy chinese are considerd more acceptable than other ethnic stereotypes.

The one that sticks in my mind is the relatively recent (certainly within the last decade) TV ad for some noodles or other (Amoy, possibly?) that featured a little fat cartoon chinaman, buck-toothed and bowing, in his little straw coolie hat. He was carrying a wok, as I recall.

How is that any less outrageous than, say, a little cartoon african guy with oversized lips and a bone through his nose? Spear optional.

I'm not offering anything any more well thought out or rational than that. Just struck me as odd that it was shown on prime-time TV without raising so much as a murmur.
