I read a rather wonderful story on Twitter. Back in his Lily Savage days, at the height of the AIDS panic, he was playing a gay club which was raided by the Met. The officers were all wearing rubber gloves, to protect themselves from the "gay plague". Quick as a flash, Savage ad-libbed from the stage "Hello, looks like we've got some help with the washing-up."

[Death Metal Planet]

Ah, yes... "Death Metal Planet", no offence to its creators but it does feel like the story that keeps on giving the same tired premise and drags itself along like the beaten up corpse it is.

This news has me feeling absolutely socked and heartbroken. He was quite a talented actor who in the past few years was starting to get more recognition on both TV and the Silver Screen, due in no small part, to his natural charisma and acting abilities.

My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues!!

[Starship Troopers]

Has there ever been a less successful but somehow continuing movie franchise than the Hellboy movies?

I believe Starship Troopers is up to film 5 - but I'm not sure this counts as the first film is a classic while the rest... aren't. Good CGI, though.

Maybe there's hope for Dredd yet.

I agree that Hero of the Federation  was completely crap at its core, but Marauder...? That was a vast improvement to its previous instalment by a wide margin.
