***My little lad is nearly two and this is the first proper snow he's seen down our way. We got up early and took up him to the Wicklow hills and played miniature snowballs by Lough Bray Lower***

What?, there's not a flake of snow up here in Bally Brack or Killiney.

It does.

***Uncle Umpty says......

Sure, I wouldn't really like Disney to be in charge of any Judge Dredd film.

Too late, it's already happened!

*************************************************

Really!***

Disney is the parent company who owns the Stallone Dredd film.

***While I understand the Lucasfilm-hate that's knocking about, did no-one else see the bits on Coruscant in episodes 2 and 3 and think 'Yep - that's Mega-City One'?***

No.

***Personally, I think Kev Walker's art is a dreary mass of static angles and shadows. However, regardless of which is the better of the two artists, putting them side by side in the collected Origins just shows how messy it is when you mix radically different artists. ***

Q: What was wrong with the art in "the Connection" & "Origins"?

A: Nothin'

Q: What wrong with puttin' them together in the same book?

A: Absolutely Nothin'

I'm the same, especially because of that episode when he goes back in time to meet the 1st Ulysses in ancient Greece.

When I read the Odyssey I was wondering when all his mates would be put to sleep.

Cities of Gold went on for far too long. Something like 39 episodes as opposed to U31's 25 and they only found one of the cities in the end.

***Yes, they eventually got back to Earth. Not a hoax- not another "curse you, cruel Gods!" mindfuck- they really got back to Earth and the crew all came back to life. ***

Well there was one more mindfuck just before the climax when Ulysses was judged gulity and put to death by Hades but then awoke to find his kids and the earth.

It's the only 80's cartoon I can still watch and get something out of without totally cringing. The design and feel of this series was just unique and didn't pander to the dumb kids brigade. We haven't seen anything like it since of imaginative flair and edge.

It's the promo they made to pitch the series and get it made, in some ways it's even more surreal that the series proper, and scarier in some parts. It's a bit like Gatchaman. A more European feel was decided upon eventually. This was released in Japan on VHS in the 80's but hasn't been included on any of the rerelease DVD box sets.
