Not to mention the fact that
Stephen King
himself appears as a character in the later volumes...

I'd actually be happy if they just left that out of the screen version. I like the way King cross-references his books, but that was a step too far.

Well it certainly needs something of that scale. There's a lot of story to get through. And sharing it between film and TV is an interesting idea. I'm not too worried about Ron howard (although he wouldn't have been my first choice), more Akiva Goldsman. He's written some good stuff, but then he also wrote Batman & Robin. Could go either way really.

They're still making Dune, just not with Peter Berg. Would that mean they're not using these designs then?

War Zone wasn't a great film, but it has its moments, and  Ray Stevenson was spot on as the Punisher. If they can keep him in whatever reboot they're doing, I'll be happy.

Glad it's not just me then; I have no idea what's been happening in the last book of Savage (or any of the books prior to that), and my grip on Defoe is only slightly better. Dante's been a favourite of mine since it started so I'm usually able to keep track of it.

Yes, she certainly shows off her thespian skills in this film. Or am I pronouncing that wrong...

(That's a joke. I meant lesbian. Just so we're clear.)

There's been talk about 28 Months Later for ages, but nothing certain. Danny Boyle still mentions it in interviews every once in a while, so it still seems to be on his to-do list.

On a side note, what was the deal with
the fancy bullet
that what's-his-face was going on about? Is it just me, or did he never use the bloody thing?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm told that's what he used to blow up the guard towers, but it's hard to tell.

On a similar note, what was with Jet Li's "I do/don't have a family" thing? Was that a character quirk or did they just forget to write the rest?

Right, looks like I'm gonna have to be that guy...... This was pretty bad. Now I love my Rambo and Commando and 80's action etc. as much as any man here, but I really think Sly just aimed too high with this. The last half hour was admittedly awesome, but most of what happened before that was surprisingly dull. The other Expendables barely get a look-in before the end scene, it's basically the Sly/Statham show. And that's not what I wanted to see.

Well, you may be able to get a few chuckles from the liberal use of "bender" throughout the dialogue, but that's about it.

I just had to share, this film is every single kind of awful that can be captured on screen.
