Absolutely, but I'd be crushed. And anyway, if they did that, it would get rid of the whole "What's Tigh gonna do next if he's a Cylon?" question which is probably going to last most of the season. Besides, There's nothing to say he won't end up shooting the Old Man....

I know! Way to start things off with a bang. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's seen it now.

Film & TV / Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

Damn good start to the new season. The opening battle is fantastic, and the show seems to have gone back to the great atmosphere of paranoia that we haven't really had since the first season. (with parts of the second)

Also, Colonel Tigh gets the episode's best moment.

It would have been a nice touch if in the "Verify your age" section of the site, the years went back as far as the 1400's or something. No-one tells the truth on those things anyway.

I didn't do this, but I read a great prank on another site where a guy got his boss's phone, took the battery out, put a wafer thin slice of ham in behind it, and put the battery back so all the connections still worked, and the phone seemed normal. After a few days, the boss couldn't figure out where the horrible smell was coming from.

A few years ago, my mate got a new phone, and it was a relatively new idea at the time that you could make voice recordings on it and use them as ring tones. So we're in the pub, he goes to the jacks, leaving his new phone on the table, and another friend picks up the phone and makes a recording of himself shouting "WARNING! WARNING! SEX OFFENDER! SEX OFFENDER! WARNING!" Sets it as the ringtone and doesn't say a word. I think he was on the bus when the phone went off.

Film & TV / Re: Hellboy II theatrical trailer....

Well, I've never read the comics, so I'm not comparing it to anything. I just didn't think the first film was very good. I haven;t seen it in a while, so maybe I need to give it another chance. There were certainly things I liked about it; Ron Perlman was great as usual, and that weird clockwork Nazi assassin was cool. But the plot was all over the place (not in a good way) and some of the acting from various characters was terrible.

More bizarre comic book mythology is a good thing, so I'll try and be a bit more open-minded about this one.

I'm finding it hard to get excited about this. I love Del Toro's films, and I like pretty much everyone in this film, but I didn't like the first one, and apart from some of the creature designs in the trailer, I don't really see anything here that makes me think this is gonna be too different. I'll give it a try, but I'm not expecting much.

That's pretty damn creepy. Especially Homer's huge eyes and tiny little irises.

My mother will not, under any circumstances, allow shoes to be placed on the kitchen table. This isn't just for obvious hygiene reasons, but even new shoes still in the box. It's bad luck apparently, but I can't find anything about the origin of this particular superstition. I can find variations on it (i.e., if you leave your shoes on the table, your soul will go into the shoes which will then fall off the table and into hell. Or, you'll die by hanging.) but I can't find what country it comes from.

The guy who got the first question wrong on the American Who Wants to be a Millionaire:

Preppy college type sits in the chair, all raring to go. First question: "New home owners often buy surge protecters to protect their homes from surges of what?" The guy doesn't think and quickly answers "Flooding, final answer."

The look on his face is absolutely fantastic.
