Hmmmmm, I've been waiting to see this, and the intriguing idea of a B&W version means I may go for the R1 DVD instead of downloading. I've just checked IMDb for release dates, and the have up as far as May for various countries, but no mention of UK or Ireland. So either we'll get it in the summer, or we've just been ignored completely for some reason.

I'm a bit nervous about the film though, since I saw the trailer because some of the acting looked decidedly pants. I'm hoping that was just misleading. But Darabont's always been best when working with King's stuff (although The Majestic is an overlooked gem, and they should have taken his Indiana Jones 4 script, even though I haven't seen the new one) so I'll give it a go.

I liked the Ten-Seconders return, but to be honest I preferred the original artwork, I'm kinda hoping they switch back to that later on (I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an ad for series two in the original style ages ago, I'm just crap with artist's names)
What were the names of the two guys who survived the last series though, and were they the guys we saw in the last couple of panels fighting the thing/God? Or was one of them the guy on the table?

I like Dead Eyes so far, took me a re-read to get even a clue of what was going on this ep, but I'm intrigued.

And the whole "a man walks alone" thing. I read somewhere that they've actually licensed the "walking away" music from the TV show for use in the film, I'm hoping that's true. It goes with the pic.

"hey now that he can't read it let's all bitch about shutdown man"

I'm still here you knob......

In any case, they've gone back to putting the lockout on the office computers, but it only takes effect once the computer is re-started, or we log out, so I'm putting off either one as long as I can. The problem is, this isn't a lockout on certain sites, it's a lock on any site that doesn't have our company name in it (our company makes training software sites for other companies, so those sites will have our name in the address). Once the lock is in place, any attempt to get to an unauthorised page is reported to the big cheese, so I don't know if I'll even be able to get to those proxy sites. I'll make a note of them though.

Most people have unknowingly restarted their computers though, and been locked out, so there is a feeling in the air of quiet hatred. Revolution may be on the horizon.

Cheers all, I appreciate the support. :)

Although, in the last hour or so, there have been some "network difficulties" and the bosses have decided that they may need to re-think this policy, so there may be a stay of execution.....

I've just found out that from tomorrow, my office is going to be blocking most non-business websites. The sucks for several reasons, not least of which is that I have fuck all to do most of the day, and that's why I spend so much time floating around the internet. If that is taken away from me, I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. I think postal will be the only route left to me.

The Nightcrawler/ Secret Service fight at the start of X-Men 2. Favourite bit, Nightcrawler running down the hall towards an agent, teleports away, then reappears right in front of the guy to drop kick him through the door, disappearing just as he makes contact. Classic....

Mal Vs. The Operative in Serenity, both times they fight. Mainly because the Op is this highly trained, graceful killer, and Mal is a clumsy brawler, yet it still manages to be a fairly even fight. And the payoff in the final scrap is a multiple-rewind moment.

Maximus Vs. Commodus in Gladiator, despite having no sword and a gaping back wound, Max still knocks the shite out the wussy little Emperor.

The knock-your-opponent's-gun-out-of-the-way fight in Equilibrium.

I also like the bizarre zombie/voodoo doll swordfight in Stardust.

Okay, we've had favourite explosions, now I'm thinking what are our favourite on-screen fights? Gun, sword, hand-to-hand, big or small, bring them on.....

"Epilepsy is electrical activity between the left and right hemisphere of the brain isnt it?2

It doesn't have to be between the two sides.(As I understand it, I've had a lot of different stuff explained to me over the years) It is electrical activity which causes the seizures though.

I have epilepsy, does that count?

It's caused by a weird brain, so that's kinda a mutation I guess.....

Agreed on both counts. I think the Saw films are very well put together, in the way the stories from each film are connected. Sure, the acting isn't going to win any awards, but it's smarter than the average slasher film, and I'll admit, I do have a sick curiosity in finding out how the next trap/machine is going to work. And I think Jigsaw himself is a great character.

Hostel on the other hand, I've only seen the first one, and I thought it was one of the biggest piles of shite I have ever seen. No real storyline to speak of apart from "Guys go on holiday, get horny, get killed." I know horror films are usually thin on plot anyway, but come on. I mentally switched off at the point where the guys get a picture message from their mates OBVIOUSLY SEVERED HEAD saying "I've gone home", and believe it, shrug their shoulders and stop worrying about him.
