Quote from: "Lobo Baggins"This also accounts for the anomalies in Voyager, where, despite being the fastest ship in the Federation, they were regularly overtaken by the 'technologically primitive' Kazon race and that Cardassian woman for two or three years.

Let's not even get into the episode where Tom Paris went so fast in a shuttlecraft that he evolved into a fish.

No, Colonial Marines is a different game. But now it seems to be on hold, so it's looking dubious.

It gets worse; Observe as Phoenix "Does a Crispin" on Letterman. It's excruciating to watch....

"....and I want my scalps!"

Can't help smiling at this one. It looks like fun, and fills me with a certain hope that this may be a comeback for QT after that last boring self-indulgant pile o'shite. On the other hand, it's got Eli Roth in it, so there are no guarantees.

Film & TV / Re: FRINGE this one is for us.

How did I miss this thread while talking about Fringe in the Lost board?

It is indeed a great show. John Noble is great as Walter, and Joshua Jackson is surprisingly decent as Peter when he plays it straight, but I kinda wish they didn't have him make every second line a quip. Still, the show has more than enough imagination going for it to make up for such quibbles.

Fringe. Definitely Fringe. That, Lost and BSG are my three weekly doses right now.

Ah, that's one programme I've never seen, although I've read good things about it.

It's great stuff. Enjoyably bizarre (one ep has a guy getting killed by razor-sharp butterflies) and it's made more addictive by playing "spot the Observer" in every episode.

Quote from: "Godpleton"This just occurred to me: Does Widmore actually know what he's doing and the full consequences of his actions.

How do you mean?

We see now that he was on the Island before even Ben got there, so there's a good chance that he knows a lot more about what's going on then some of the other major players.  Although why he's so eager to get the Island back is a mystery.

I don't really have any idea where it's going from here, but the idea that Galactica itself may be crumbling as it heads to the finish line is interesting.

Also, I do remember some behind-the-scenes pics from a couple of months ago regarding the remaining episodes. There were pics of
Lee in marine gear and one of Aaron Doral, so it's a good bet the remaining Cylons will be showing up.
Interesting point. Although Faraday mentioned something about length of time on the Island when he talks about how it could be damaging Miles, so perhaps that's a factor with the Others.

Quote from: "James"Apparently, I read somewhere, that a few episode ago Adama spotted something similar in his quarters -
I'm guessing stress fractures - Galactica is getting pretty old.
And another theory I read was that the
dying leader prophecy is referring to the ship, not Roslin...hmm...
Intriguing.....
I wonder if they're hinting at the ending there? Galactica may not make it to wherever they're going...
This episode made me think about something; Do the people who are "native" to each time period not see/hear the flash? It didn't look like Kate or Claire were affected by it and surely if they did, then the people who are moving through time would have new memories of all these weird flashes in the sky that they couldn't explain at the time....

My head hurts.

Ah I see. Well I guess that's the end o' that chapter.

Another brilliant episode this week, but I did have one minor gripe...
Zarek's execution of the Quorum seemed somewhat out of character for him, in my opinion. He's always been about democracy, not dictatorship. Yes, he's not above using under-handed means to put himself or someone he wants in power, or promote his own agenda, but to kill all the elected representatives of the people doesn't seem like something he'd do.
Still, top notch stuff. Anyone have any guesses as to
what the chief saw in the engine room?
