Perfect on a genetic level.  There are differences from the life experience and the clone will always be a younger version of the original host.  On top of that there's iris and fingerprints, but those are essentially "experiences" issues as they form due to currents in amniotic fluid in the womb.

But to all intents and purposes?  Yeah, my clone would look like me at that age.  Just like so-called identical twins (a phrase I used earlier) look pretty much the same, as they get older experiences draw differences upon them - scars, habits etc.

That's why it's called cloning and not "having a child".

It's a surreal thing.  My cousin was stabbed upwards of 20 times by her boyfriend who used his insecurity to basically paint her as a whore (she wasn't, just friendly and he was a control freak) and instead of life, he got 8 years.

Only the fact that I've gone to her funeral, watched her parents slowly collapse and not seen her in the last 10 years stops me from thinking I'd somehow had a very vivid dream.  I think that's what that kind of death feels like for a lot of people who belong to the person who's died.

I feared I'd have to kill you Prof.  Your title was the clue, but if you were only to leave it and the fish-royalty behind you could be a GOD!

What V said.  Only upgrade "not sure" to "quite sure in the negative"

The fact influences the rest.  No point using the word if that's not what's actually meant.  Why would you CLONE something if you DIDN'T want a perfect replica?

I think "sad" would be a perfectly sensible response.  That sucks mate.  Sorry to hear about that.

Prof, be careful what you say.

Especially with the purges going on round here and Emp, Trout & TS holed up in their fortified palace while we, the people, call for their heads.

I'm fortunate in that I have a pretty rare surname.  So I've never had to dream up a silly web handle to begin with because my real name is quite silly enough.

Thanks for the reminder, thought that was the case, but the case was stated with such seriousness I thought "is there something I'm forgetting?" but no.  Cheers Gumpty

You forgot Robin Williams, Ben Stiller and Jim Carey, but yeah.  Good idea.

You can sit in a photo booth thingy though, that's what I meant.

Hey, Cnut was a wise ruler of both Denmark AND Britain.  And the other thing that's spelt similarly is nice.  Both are reduced by being compared to that little fart.
