Presumably because the first thing that's investigated by A&R is "are they drop-dead-do-able" before a CD is played or a gig visited.

This post brought to you by a long-term bitter failed muso..... who's genuinely ugly.

The less said about the fella who did the first 20 episodes of "The Final Solution" the better.  Almost impossible to figure out what the hell was going on.

Good good, Lokuztzovluv!  That's my plan.

I wouldn't DREAM of telling anyone how to speak or spell - I'm not an 80s toy interfered with by ET.

I just find it grates quite a bit when I read and hear it in British media or from mouths of Brits.  When people came into a shop I worked in and asked "can I get..." I would ALWAYS answer "No, nobody's allowed behind the counter, but I can get it for you"

The only joy in an otherwise dull and hatefull existence.....

I still hate computers trying to force American spelling on me though.  Months will go by with no incidents, then, suddently, it's automatically replacing "s" with "z" and "ph" with "f" and so on.   No reason I can figure out.  Grrrrr.

If Strontium DogSSS had been given decent, consistent writers and appeared more regularly for the first few years (to re-establish itself) and moved a bit quicker than it did, it'd have been brills skills.  As it was, it was ok.  There were bits that worked, but there was too little of it stretched over too long.

I thought the Final Solution was amazing and still do.  I hope it IS the end of Johnny.  I'd like it not to be retconned.  As recent S/D storylines have shown, you don't have to be in constant fear of the protagonist's imminent death to be excited and involved with a story.

Welcome aboard the Thrillship.

Sad news about the progs, but some of us just don't have the space for these things and can use the cash.  I'll be parting with most of my rather sizeable collection in the new year too, so you have my sympathy.

We conquered it in the first place.

Or, as you might say "konkered"

Um, the longer the prog goes on, the more difficult the storage will be for long-time readers.  Also, as time wends it's way along, Rebellion are bringing more and more classic and new series into print in their cracking collections.

Those two reasons would be enough for me to part with my progs if I could face it (although in the new year, that's exactly what I'll have to do).

Chuck the recession in as well and the chance to lay hands on some cash AND get some space are all very attractive, especially as you can grab nice editions of your favourites for the bookshelf (easier to store, innit).

You splashed out on this week's prog?

WOW!  You really MUST have liked it....

There's no spelling with the Americans.....

Sigh.

Also, are you sure you don't want to spell that "reezonnin" or something?

Several months ago I came across the American spelling of "Sulphur" - guess how it's spelt.  I still can't quite believe how stupid someone must be to need that simplified.....

Kiwi, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, it's annoying - but useage doesn't bother me as much as their spelling ticks which MS Word seems intent on saddling me with semi-regularly when spellchecking documents (despite setting my language as English (UK)).

Although at least the Final Solution gave us several wonderful colour pages by mr Colin MacNeil of this parish.  If it IS to remain as Johnny's end (as I beleive it should be, despite the silliness of Grant's decision) then it is at least a fitting end and one worthy of Johnny.

It was "Steamy Windows" actually, accompanied by my patented "Batty Dance" - like Beyonce does.

It normally turns women to jelly and makes men laugh nervously.  Nothin'!  Gutted.

Good link that.  I've heard ALL those arguements offered with a straight face - honesy.

And WHY have I heard them?  Because annoying people think it's their Cod-given right to get in my face if I answer a meaningless question like "Do you believe in Cod" honestly.  Idiots.
