General / Re: 2000AD Oct/Nov Art Comp: Loving The Alien

The original (non-cropped) version went down to waist level, shirt open and it was apparent that this is a LADY warlock.  At least, I hope it was.  I think I like your interpretation better though.

Sadly I couldn't finish the whole thing, having had seveeral aborted attempts at various elements.  And just to make sure I wasn't tempted to finish it off, I deleted the full version.  That's plenty big enough.

Right this took ages to work out.  It's also rather unfinished, but I was too ambitious and it was far too large to do in the time.

YAY!

In common with one or two other boarders, I've deliberately misunderstood the title to a small degree.  Nikolai Dante has an alien love-in with Magna from Nemesis the Warlock and Eva Procopio from Shakara.  Dirty dog!

Or you can just cancel Friday without warning after you, the editorial team, let him be written into a corner that was just daft (and after you'd written a year's worth of storys to "address continuity issues" that precisely none of the readership had ANY PROBLEM DEALING WITH.

And then mistakenly resurrect the far-less interesting "REAL" Rogue.

Although, if you ARE going to do that, at least they gave Rogue to the best writer to ever handle the character....

Too right, and it's better that way.

The (hopefully) imminent arrival of the fantastic Lilly MacKenzie by our own Simon Fraser, the upcoming x-masage (which is usually well worth it) and the lost cases thingy, along with the quality of this issue (which I loved, TG excepted, cover to cover) will keep me hanging on for a while yet though.

Who am I kidding?  I'd just like to feel like TG might be an occasional inclusion, 6 months out of 12 maybe, rather than grinding away at my good humour EVERY month.  Ah well.  If it were perfect we'd have nothing to type about.... And at least it's VERY popular with those who DO like it.

Other Reviews / Re: Eurocrash (story not GN)

All of which proves we need to get caught up on Sinister Dexter/Downlode Tales/Malone etc in the collections.  It's like Dante in that, at times, it suffers from infrequent storys that make it seem like it's treading water.  And, like Dante, the collection of the later stuff so it's almost caught up would disprove that concept AND make the whole idea of newer readers (or one's who've lapsed and returned like me) catching up not seem like an impossible feat.

Prog / Re: Prog 1661 - Download's Darkest Hour
15 November, 2009, 09:23:10 AM
Agreed about Sin/Dex.

Total DISagreement regarding Shakara & Slaine, but that's the beauty of the anthology format, hopefully there's something for everyone each prog.

Regarding Necrophim, I really wanted to like it too.  I've "booked" some time this evening with the prologue and book 1 so far tonight so I can make sure I'm getting it and giving it a fair crack.  It's funny, I really like most stuff Tony's done for the prog, but both this and Stalag 666 have had major flaws that have interfered with my full enjoyment.  Let's hope he keeps getting stuff to do as there've been many great writers who've started like this.  Sometimes it takes a while to get into the demands made by Twoth's format and so many other boarders are enjoying it, I'm more than happy to let it develop over a few books....

MOST CHILDREN are right little sods (those of boarders and my brother's foursome excepted - they're right little shits!)

The nut job smashing his monitor, making a twat of himself and then thinking "I'd better post this to youtube".  Textbook definition of "monumental cockend"

Yeah, these shows are all quite unfamiliar to me.  I keep it simple with the Jeremy Kyle show.  No danger of THAT being cancelled anytime soon.  Not while Hackney and Salford still have scum who've not been on telly yet....

There you go.  Whereas for me, her continued presence may well send me right off to just reading the prog.  Horses for courses, eh?

Help! / Re: Thrill Power Overload!

I think the general theme emerging here is get to a specialist thrill-merchant and get some 2000ad sized comic boxes.  They do the job perfectly.  Good luck, Tweak.

I'm sure there's some kind of thread (I've posted on it) but yeah, well done to the Trout & the family.  Especially Queen Trout.  Now there are two troutlings.  Ah.......

I quite enjoyed it too, Monarch.  I was prepared for it to be awful as I had dreadful memories of it.  Turns out I was wrong.  Thanks for the campaign, Monarch.
