Hmmmm, life's too short to spend any of it staring at wallpaper, no matter how gorgeous or technically amazing - if a movie hasn't got anything else going for it I won't watch it.  Until I'm sick, obviously.  When I get flu or something similar I end up watching all kinds of movies I would NEVER give the time of day otherwise......

That's how I tend to end up watching MOST of Cameron's movies actually.

More Lobster please.  And then a nice collection of it so I can catch up with all the stuff I missed.

If a movie can't hold your interest on a small screen but will on the BIG one, well, that pretty much nails that it's only a spectacle rather than an actual story?  Not tha I can acually SAY that. I didn't last the distance.

Hellboy and BRPD are things I've had only slight exposure to.  Liked it well enough, but other priorities and that.  At least he's not meant to be known to me fom supehero comics (which is initially why I thought I'd not heard of him).

Hellboy wouldn't have been an "early step" for me by any stretch of the imagination.  I'm old.  And for that matter I went from American comics to Twoth, not the other way round.

I took a unit on paleoclimatology at uni and it's relevence to archaeological dating methods.  I'm pretty boned up on the research thanks.

Saw the original in the supermarket for £3.  Sorted.

I don't do remakes, there's almost NEVER any point - unless you're dong something new and different, but that's rare as hell (hopefully Dredd will fall into this category).

Generally I'd agree with you Mike, but Carpenter's "The Thing" and Cronenberg's (spelling?) "The Fly" are great!
You're right - those would make my list of ones that worked.

If I see the new one for £3 on DVD or it's on telly I'll definitely give it a go.

I'm a feminist.  My woman can hold out my chair, hold open doors, buy me stuff and generally brown nose in return for sex.

TG is always a "skip it" thing for me.  I didn't like it when it was zeitgeisty and edgy and new, I'm unlikely to have changed my mind now - particularly as it doesn't seem to have changed that much (although it IS at least readable for me - unlike the original run.  Also Rufus' art is better than Hewlett's by miles in my opinion).  Barely worth mentioning it EXCEPT for one points. 1. The cut out booga was indeed ARSOM.

The Dredd outings are usually very well done - this month's particularly (even if I've no idea who the hell this Guy guy is).

The text articles and floppies, while not popular with others, are pretty popular with me and I enjoy them well enough and know they are the price we pay for actually HAVING a meg in existence in the first place.

And yes, I'd like Redondo to get a proper strip work for Twoth or the Meg.  And Kek-W actually, that article reminded me how much I've enjoyed his stuff.

As for the rest, it's a mixed bag and not as GOOD as the prog, but it's still pretty good.  Sadly, whenever the prog's going through a good patch, the meg tends to suffer and vice versa (although that situation is quite rare).  This is how it is and how it's been for ages.  Nobody HAS to buy it, but I do and I enjoy it.  Even if sometimes I skip the odd thing.

Oh and Lilly MacKenzie starting soon in the TG slot (with new stuff too rather than just reprinted off the original webcomic) is going to be fun.  But I'm a massive Simon Fraser fan so that probably comes as a surprise to nobody.

Women in general never say what they mean so get something else.

Of course, were you to fail with the greenhouse in any way she'd probably ALSO get grumpy.  As Admiral Ackbar says - "IT'S A TRAP!!!!"

Of course, if she turns out to NOT be that kind of person, you're still sorted and she's extra happy.  No problems.

My thoughts - Good idea.

No, TB - I'm saying there was a little slew of storylines subtitled "The Lost Years" which, although they appeared chronologically just before (I think) The Secret Commonwealth, were actually set during Slaine's first rule as High King - They started in prog 1100 I believe.

That would mean they were set sometime between his coronation (The Horned God) and his first death (Demon Killer)

LILLY MACKENZIE IN THE MEG!!!! WHOOOP!

And good luck to TG wherever it ends up, I know it has a loyal audience that will follow it and wish them well.
