Quite.

Hey Bouwel, any chance of you doing some housework?  My place is a tip and why have a familiar and wash up yourself?

We'll just stay here and try to ignore the noise from the neighbours arguing about who had sex with who's ipod.  *tut tut tut*  Lovely tea and cakes are the way forward.  I tried to pour oil on troubled canada geese over there with my baking, but to no avail.  At least we all enjoy a good omnomnom over here.

Bill Savage: Ambassador to Russia
Mister Savage with these generic foil wrapped slightly globular chocs you are really spoiling us.

*sound of multiple foil-wrapped pins being pulled by virtue of the cutting edge of technology - the STRING*

Laugh THAT off, Twinkletoes.

*sound of Savage jumping out a window and abseiling to safety and making his escape on a speedboat*

VOICE OVER: "And all because the lorry driver loathes foreigners"

I'm hoping that Titan will pick these up like they did with Dare after Hawk books finished their run.  Certainly I hope so, some of the prices are scary!  :o
Indeed.

Until comparatively recently publishers thought that "complete" runs of comics being reprinted in collections wasn't worth bringing to the market - however a quick look on the shelves of you local comic shop will prove just how successful they are.

It can't be long until these are a little more affordable - the faint memories I have and the art I've seen is just beautiful.  Easily one of the things that Burns is going for when he paints Dante, don't you think?

That's it Tweak.

And everyone shock hands and He-Man and Orco explained the moral behind this weeks festival of bloodless sword-slashing and laugh for a little too long.  All friends again.

(Pity the Don Lawrence Trigan Empire stuff hasn't been given the same treatment. I couldn't even pretend to be able to afford the last collections.)
Quite.  They're horrifically expensive - much as I'd love to, I just can't spring for that price.

Nice work, Shark.

Seeing it just reminded me that I really need this book.  Nicely done - especially the "complete discography" bit.  If this isn't pretty close to what we finally get when Grant & Tharg conclude their wrangling there's no justice.

My only real exposure to Dare was through Grant Morrison & the MIGHTY Rian Hughes' Thatcheresque reimagining that rand in Revolver and Crisis and the more recent Ennis Erskine volume from Virgin.  Both fantastic (albeit for different reasons and in different ways).

The excellent collection of Rian Hughes' beatuful comics work from Knockabout (recommennded by the wise hivemind) arrived during my recovery from the swine flu and brought rare smiles to my lips.  While perusing I remembered that I'd had some Eagle annuals floating about the house when I was a nipper.  No idea where but my affection for the character is huge despite not having read much.

Any recommendations of collections of the classic material I can sink my teeth into and enjoy the original?  Here seems the smartest place to ask as there seem to be several knowledgable and affectionate fans.
