Ah. Some of those aren't quite so original as I thought.

There's been one who turns up now and again and makes tasteless comments. Think I remember him from Your Beating Heart?

News / Re: New GNs listed on Amazon.........

CF11, Ace Trucking & Ro-Busters added to the shopping list.

Anyone who hasn't already got The Pit or The (real) VCs should start running towards their local thrill-merchant immediately.

I'd be quite keen to see a Doomsday collection please Tharg.

Good news on the Asda front, but I was dismayed to note that Borders haven't had the current EE in and they sell any old shite in there.

I don't think I have a single issue in the 300s which has the cover still attached and any stories printed on the back of a Star Scan will have an unexpected cliffhanger. HOwever, I was always canny about needing to locate a story quickly, so they all have the issue numbers imprinted in thick blue biro at the top of the first page.

Anime & manga classic "Akira" is finally getting the American live-action feature film treatment

Well, I've certainly been clamouring for it.

the Spellcheck that insists on changing 'Droids' to 'Druids' everytime I write to Tharg.

People who don't update their spellcheck dictionary should be publicly euthanised. Personally I like to add misspellings when I'm round visiting and nobody's looking.

It's acceptable to drop the "s" when the name ends in an "s", though, surely?

My understanding was that it's only Biblical names.

Now, I'm off to make a rather large brown fish.

Also, I didn't see anything "far-fetched" about the villains from S2. It just seemed like a natural progression up the chain. We'd already seen how ruthless the little fish can be, so the big players should naturally be even worse.

When's S4 out on dvd?

March 10th according to Amazon. I've been waiting for the DVDs myself, but I don't think I'll be able to resist "obtaining" the fifth series once I've watched the fourth.

I can enjoy Waterworld on it's own merits (few that there are), but really - anyone choosing to watch it would do better to watch The Road Warrior.

While the second part of that sentence is undoubtedly true, it's worth noting that the same logic can be applied to 99% of all films that have ever been made.

I've always been quite keen on Waterworld. Partly just for the spectacle and ambition of the sets, partly because the Mariner is actually quite a nasty piece of work and partly for Jeanne (gives me the) Tripplehorn. The thing that never made sense to me about Basic Instinct is why anyone would prefer Sharon Stone to her.

The LA-being-nuked dream-sequence in Terminator II. The way the shockwave blows the carbonised children apart.

The first time I saw T2, I was on acid and my joyful impression of that scene has always stayed with me!
