Pretty stupid not having Prog 2007 though.

The Auld Alliance and (something like) The London Underground in Paris: Scottish & English themed bars respectively. The clientele is primarily ex-pats and tourists. I might open up a Welsh one called Y Ddraig Goch, but I don't think it would last.

I was in Dublin on St Patrick's Day a few years back and it was great fun. We went to some seedy little pub at opening time, got a table in the corner and sat there until closing time by which point drunkards were stacked about three deep. I failed miserably to impress a pretty girl with my witty repartee on the long walk home but, happily, there was more drink to be had when we arrive. Went for a few sharpeners the next afternoon then round to our mate's parents' for a slap up feed. Top.

Prog / Re: Dog Fight! prog: 1573...........

I certainly wasn't expecting Shakara to end this week, but it was the highlight of the Prog. However, I'll have to reread the lot, as my interpretation of the ending was that the Shakara minds/souls/whatever had acted on the normal (red) Shakara's demand to "fix" the chick by turning her into a new (blue) Shakara who was now cutting a swathe through whoever she fancied. Oh well.

AAARGH! I've only just completely forgotten this was on and went to see Cloverfield instead.

NB I know I can probably download it or watch a repeat or whatever, but I'm an old-fashioned kind of guy.

That looks to me like a "we've just added an extra round of drinks to your bill and you'll know something's not right but you'll never get it together to work out what" sort of grin.

And I'll be extra careful about criticising Henry Flint's art from now on, just in case he feels the need to go up to 4 on me. Although, of course, any real man could break me in half on 2.

How about we all agree to buy a six-pack and sit down at a certain time? It'll be like a virtual pub. And anyone who wants to play the fruit machine can paypal me a pound and I'll arbitrarily decide whether you win two pounds or more.

Ugg. Am I the only one who hates Rebellion hard covers?

I like them because they preserve the proper size of the originals, but I wouldn't want to pay those prices for everything, only stuff where I'd like to be able to pore over the art.

To be honest, I reckon Stickleback would benefit from the Leviathan style full-size hardback treatment. I'd buy two.

I think I saw this at the pictures on Friday. Which was a bold statement.

Personally, I've always been happy to pay the licence fee as long as they keep letting David Attenborough make programmes. Storyville's generally excellent too.

Didn't think the Dredd was that bad actually. Nothing special, but a decent enough filler.

Armitage, I find almost unreadably dull.

The art on Tempest was the best thing about this month's Meg. Particularly that last page.

I thought I'd just been disappointed by the first episode. In hindsight, I really didn't like it, so I haven't watched any more.

I believe cruise ships sometimes dock in Glasgow. But only after major intestinal disorders, so I hope to never see you!
