I thought we'd started! Just as well I haven't brutally murdered anyone yet, I suppose.

Currently sharpening my axe one square away from the live area.

Looks like it. Unfortunately, that big long thread about Syd Barrett Block being disrespectful to Tom Frame is gone.

Maybe he drew the original back to front because he knew it was going to be a reflection in the finished image?

James, just wondering if that motto was always on Bob's helmet or if you were a big fan of the Ruthless Rap Assassins?

Pretty impressive stuff. How long until these are fitted with Guthrie style electro-shock technology?

General / Sinister/Dexter: Dead or Alive?
15 September, 2006, 06:02:40 AM
As a follow on from the Malone thread, I've noticed that a few people seem to have a different interpretation of what happened at the end of the last run of Sin/Dex from my own. As far as I was concerned Ramone was shot but deliberately not fatally; I can't be bothered digging out the Prog but I'm pretty sure they were scooping him into an ambulance at the end. Meanwhile, Finny had also been wounded but it seemed like Billi was in more danger of dying than him.

Yet I've seen people referring to them as having been killed. Have I missed something or is this to do with the ghost story in Prog 2006, which I took to be a light-hearted take on the pair's fevered imaginings as they lie in hospital/fleapit hotel? A sort of collective determination not to move towards the light, but to pull through and have their revenge.

Anyone else have any other thoughts on it?

I don't, but I know some people who do. Not sure if this is any help, but here's the festival's official site.

Help! / Re: The Missing Daily Star Dredds....

Did some of this thread go missing in the Great Server Move of '06?

In the interregnum, I was contemplating the issue of these lost strips and it occurred to me that an obsessive Dredd fan with too much time and money could make a trip to the British Library and get copies of all the episodes they'd missed. You can even get them mailed to you, but that's more expensive.

I'd second making sure you talk to Bryan Talbot. He was on a panel at a convention a few years ago and gave an interesting, erudite and amusing account of the development of British sequential art from the Bayeux tapestry to the present day in about fifteen minutes (if you deduct all the time Alan Grant spent interjecting with funny stories.)

The ones who invade your privacy by bothering you in the street really get on my tits. If somebody phones you up, it's very easy to shout "Fuck off!" or slam the phone down but they get pretty shirty if you do that to them in person. I try to look as aggravated as possible and glare at them menacingly as I walk towards them. Unfortunately, this doesn't usually work, so I end up telling them to "Fuck off" anyway, having got myself worked up for no reason.

Don't know if it's just me, but the Thrill Profile pages don't seem to be working. Summary comes up okay but, if you click to see all the stories you just get a blank page.

Hooray for Wake.

You probably already know this, but when you click on the title of a multi-page thread you get an error. Clicking on an individual page number works fine.

If your looking for something a bit out of the ordinary, I'd recommend Resonance FM. It's a London based station offering quite a lot of pretentious bilge alongside occasionally fantastic music which I've never been able to find in the shops.

You can listen live or check out their archive (similar to Listen Again.)
