First of all, it's not a remake of Monkey. It's just yet another adaptation of the original 16th century story.
Secondly, that clip with "Monkey Remake" above it isn't the new series, but one of the other versions.
Not the best researched of articles even by Daily Mail standards. New version does look quite good though.

A fake cover for the non-existent issue 16 of 1980s UK horror comic, Scream! (it only reached issue 15 before merging with Eagle). This was originally created for April Fool's Day last year. It now looks slightly more authentic after being fiddled about with in Paint Shop Pro.

A title that specific usually makes me think there must be more to the story than that and wonder if the story is going to end up contradicting the title.
"The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford" also fits the era better. Some of those nineteenth century story titles went on forever, which is also, no doubt, the reason for the name of upcoming 2000ad strip "The Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azreal (And The Dead Left In His Wake)".
