How very strange. I'm not too far away from Edinburgh, just got back from there in fact, and last night I uploaded this to youtube...

Weird coincidence type thing.

Um... is Jock now officially doing concept work for this? His pictures are all over the internet with his name being linked to the film, but I got the impression from his original post here that he was just doing them for his own entertainment.

I think it should also be pointed out that you DON'T CLICK ON THE LINKS!

The spam-merchants can trace where people get to their site from, and if they think people are visiting them via these forums, that could potentially lead to more and more spam.

I saw something about it on a cover of some magazine or other in a shop earlier today, which I did not buy and therefore I have no further information to add.

The title did immediately remind me of this though...

Pat Mills didn't come up with that odd Egyptian princess theory. I definitely read something about that in a couple of other places before it cropped up in Slaine.

Isn't that English? "It'll be a doddle"?

That was rubbish.

Odd looking. Bit young. Might just work.

Quote from: "ThryllSeekyr"Then again John Cleese with a goatee would be the classic Master.

He'd look more like classic Billy Connolly.

Quote from: "House of Usher"But if Bill Savage were to say " 'Ow do I know you're not a dirty Volg spy, eh?" it'd sound rather odd if 'eh?' didn't rhyme with day or they.

That's how I always read it. There's a regional variation used up here which I assume would be spelt "ih?", but I don't recall ever having seen that version written down.

The more I think about it, the more it occurs to me that the only reason I use certain words is because of the comics I read when I was growing up.

Scottish characters' dialogue always seems the most believable to me when written by either John Wagner or Alan Grant, and that kind of dialect isn't too far off how I myself would normally speak, (but with less stuff more specific to the west of Scotland).

Does anyone know if "helpmaboab" has ever existed as a word outside of The Broons and Oor Wullie?

Is that the thing with the talking car that goes a bit mental after colliding with a deer and won't let the driver out?

This sounds interesting. I like that title too - bit vague but makes a lot of sense once you know what the film's about.

Well according to David Bishop on that thread I posted the link to...

Quote from: "davidbishop"We agreed never to run the cover and no payment would be required. So it was left.

The original art was later auctioned on ebay with all proceeds going to the CBLDF. It raised over $2000 - so some good came out of it.
