Fair enough. That'd certainly complicate things.

Is there actually anything in those Durham Red stories that contradicts the subsequent events in Strontium Dog?

Nope. In actual fact it's thematically quite pleasing, after the extinction of the British mutants in Life and Death, considering it ends
with the extinction of the human race by mutantkind
!

Discussed before- there is a contradiction.

The Dan Abnett era Durham Red follows on directly from Paul Hogan's Strontium Dogs and solo Durham Red stories.
Hogan's destiny for the character- the far future portrayal of Durham Red as the queen mother of a galactic royal family was cemented by Abnett's final story.

With The Life and Death of Johnny Alpha, all Strontium Dogs story-lines since The Final Solution are now non-canon, ergo all Durham Red story-lines are too.

Okay, so, (without going back to check out the old issues which I can't be bothered doing right now), is her eventual destiny in Abnett's stories the only thing that specifically ties into the Hogan stories? 'Cos if that's the only problem I don't see any reason why things can't turn out the same way in the 'real' version.

...and Lupita, two movies I frequently recomend to 2000AD readers...
In that case, you should probably make sure you spell that one properly next time so they can track it down more easily. Laputa.

PS - why did girls comics all have such unimaginative names?

Because nicking the names of military aircraft didn't seem as appropriate.

...and I seem to remember one of the co-editors of Oink! saying on Facebook that although Egmont owned the rights to the title "Oink!", at least some of the characters remained the copyright of the creators themselves.  That might complicate reprints if true.

A man with the name Otto Sump,
Had a face like a rotted tree stump.
His unfortunate features,
Were familial in nature,
Their original surname was Trump.

There once was a creature called Zombo,
With a secondary brain in his bumbo.
When eating ice cream,
He'd let out a scream,
'Cos it wasn't just his head that went numbo.

I think we can assume that there's only so much a rejuve can do, otherwise there'd be no point in illegal Stookie gland use and full body transplants for rich eldsters.

The reason those old logos are bright and garish and far more interesting is because back then all the games were aimed at children/teenagers and not boring old adults, terrified of looking daft but unable to fight the compulsion to pretend to be a zombie-killing cyborg astronaut cowboy Indiana Jones lady whose consciousness has been sent backwards through time via a computer simulation, (or something).
