Off Topic / Re: Superbowl primer, anyone?

Yeah they couldn't buy a win when the game was broadcast over here but they've improved since.

The bitter taste for most folks is the way in which they've gone about their business since.

There's a whole extra can of worms as regards the referees behaviour in Superbowl 40 in 2006. Allegations of bias even led to the referees admitting 'indescrepancies'... The steelers won that one, in case you couldn't guess...

Oh yes. Hate them with a passion. Their Quarterback is someone who has very good lawyers that gave helped him escape being charged with rape. And yet he's perceived as a hero.

The rest of the team are just dirty.

Well that's my votes cast. Now where's the free beer they promised?

Also, the insistance of SDI in Acrobat.

I like the sign off remark on the comments section on that link. I'd love them to see this thread...

Another one I forgot to mention from today. The forewarning sign of Impending Doom. This manifests itself usually when I've done about ten hours straight in Photoshop/Illustrator but today it's after about three. After File>Open you're presented with the normal box to choose stuff from. Which is fine. But the icons are no longer PS/Jpegs/folder etc icons. Folder icons now vanish, Jpegs are the 'unknown file' icon  and the PS files are, bizarrely, little hands holding out for spare change, or possibly another bowl of gruel.

This means I have approximately ten seconds to save everything and get out before the walls come crashing in.

I'd like to see Love Actually remade.

With Sam Peckinpah directing.

Can you nominate anyone for these awards then? I'm assuming eventually they just take the top five or whatever, but nominations could be fun...

Today's wrinkle was a new one on me. Copying from Illustrator and pasting into PhotoShop suddenly unavailable. A bit of a basic request, you might think but no, not today. Switch everything off and on again... *sigh*

Last week was an annoying inability to recognise the Save For Web command.

I'm predicting next week PS will declare brushes illegal or something. Accompanied by that annoying MS single note on a cello (or whatever it is...)

FFS....

In Ireland we have a version of footy called gaelic that's basically rugby for men too soft for proper rugby

Wow. I'd say it was the other way round. But I guess that's the spirit of this thread again!

We really should have an "Adobe WTF" thread...

Seconded.

Yesterday, I found a bug when moving between Illustrator and Acrobat which turns hyphens into Euro symbols.

On a similar thing I found out the hard way that copying and pasting into Illustrator from anything else makes any and all kerning vanish.

This via 2000AD on Twitter (Molcher's first task?)

Really interesting interview with a Twooth legend.

Worth a listen.

I absolutely adored Mega City Undercover. Some of the pages jump out and slap you about the face. Essential purchase if anyone is deliberating about buying it.

This just makes me want to go and dig out all the other stuff it contains.

I didn't realise one editor sat over that span of progs. You'd have to be pretty pleased with that output if you were editor...

Good God man - this is the internet! This is no place for hi jinks! If this thread isn't locked in twenty pages with the second to last post being 'you suck' in large red font then it has failed.

On another note I can't take anyone seriously if they refer to Kasabian/Razorlight/Kings Of Leon as 'rock'

The expression "Pearls before swine." springs to mind.  ;)

Look, a winky emoticon, I don't mean it! Much.

Ah yes, the old 'you know nothing, you are inferior' argument. Always a winner in the reasoned argument stakes.
