Classifieds / Re: Commissions for $15!!!

Hey Johnny, perhaps if you post some links to some 2000AD related work that you've done, (being the general topic of conversation here), then it might be a little clearer to folks here what you could offer them?

I don't think Kev is being unfair at all. The classifieds section has, to date, been for people selling old 2000AD progs, and 2000AD related toys, statues, etc.

You could ask Vince-Bot to start a new section in the forum where you could advertise for commissions. It should be a fairly straight-forward thing to do.

Has Mr Shyamalan been watching Crouching Beaver Hidden Ferret in his self-imposed exile? This trailer also looks like one of those over-the-top-testosterone Mortal Kombat ones. And not a very good one at that.

Suedes aren't that recognised by 6-8 year olds?  Shocking to me, as they formed a huge part of my diet growing up.

You had to eat suede when you were a kid? Jeez, I thought we were poor... ;)

Ha! Yeah, I know what you mean! I like the feeling, though, when it clicks and you know you've got the voice just right...

For your next trick- try a Dredd!

Trust me... the begging letters with scripts attached will come mate

Actually screw it. Lets have a Cliff Richard "PUT ON A SHOW!" moment.... who wants to put out a Watchmen comic? I got an awesome story where Rorshach cant stop his mask from forming into inapropriate smilies

Comedian - Oh my god, this girls been butchered!
Rorshach -   : )
Comedian - You think this is funny? She was only 4
Rorshach -   ;P

the fans'll love it!

If it's as twisted as your previous stuff count me in  :)

I did kind of get a perverse kick out of playing a dumb streetfighter clone with Watchmen characters.

Did you ever play Thrill Kill? It was an up-to-four player PS1 game, so a bit ropey looks-wise but twisted as hell.

There's an example here that alas doesn't feature the dwarf-on-sharpened-stilts that you could opt to be, but it gives you an idea.

It goes back to cash. Richard makes valid points about why a sequel should be written. But the people making the sequel won't be making it to tell a good story. They'll be making one to make cash. Story is a minor consideration.

How can we know that?

Especially when you consider that the reason the first one made so much cash was because the story was so good.

To date, Warner Brother have released the following on the back of Watchmen. A PS3/XBox/PC game, a mobile phone game, an iPhone game (seperate from the standard mobile one), a series of animated narrations through iTunes, and a seperate animated Tales Of The Black Freight DVD. DC have released action figures of the characters.

If you think a sequel is primarily about telling a good story then I guess we'll just have to disagree.

Aliens and Empire were good sequels, but they were made in a time when story still counted for something, (not much, but something). Movie studios don't seem to care about that when it comes to sequels any more (Exhibit A - Blair Witch 3 is being prepped, despite the fact 2 was bloody awful).  Which doesn't bode well for a Watchmen sequel.
