Film Discussion / Judge Of the Week
24 August, 2012, 09:38:46 PM
I know a few of you do not frequent facebook cough Mr Proudhuff and so I thought I better share this with you. I did post it in the Dredd thread but everything gets swallowed up within a few hours and so why not celebrate me becoming a Senior Street Judge.

On the Dredd3D facebook page they asked for people to apply to become Judge of the week. So I sent my CV off to them with a few pics and the Chief Judge said I should be the first one

Film Discussion / Dredd competition from SKY
22 August, 2012, 03:33:11 PM
This is quite an easy comp, so everyone should be on equal footing to win. Now please remember all you Murdoch haters, this is a competition from one of his companies, so I don't expect any of you to enter  ;)

So with a chance to go to New York before Mega-City One is built on top of it, all you have to do is go HERE!

Film Discussion / The Dredd Report
21 August, 2012, 06:57:05 PM
The marketing has really kicked in and so I thought this site needed its very own thread.

Look at the Dredd Report and see all those interesting things that we need to know! That is all I have time for as I need to have a good old read of all the info  ;)

News / Judge Dredd - Year One - on Kindle
10 August, 2012, 06:32:14 PM
It seems that Tharg has released his Earh servant Matt Smith for a few hours, so he could write this first year of DREDD for the Kindle!

Just follow the link for all the info HERE!

Calling all the faithful Southern Contingent, it seems that our next meeting date has been taken out of our hands by Tharg.

Yes folks it's gonna be at Forbidden Planet on the 1st September at the normal time of 12:00. I think the event is from 13:00 - 14:00, so that will suit us fine!

Not only will you meet the lads again but you will also see the following confirmed droids :-
Simon Bisley - Dave Gibbons - Dan Abnett - Rufus Dayglo - Ben Willsher - Lee Townsend - Clint Langley - Boo Cook - John Higgins - Alec Worley and I'll be there as Judge Burdis as well ;)

I'm sure we'll have a large turn out, as usual and we can also give it one last push in the trying to get SBT to see the film!

Some of you knew that the Judges were going to The Peach Tree last Saturday. Well, what I forgot to mention was that John Wagner would also be there  :o

You can read not quite all about it on my blog, which is below but for you who can't open that signature click on the next words John Wagner hits The Peach Tree

Here are a few photos by Steve Green to get you in the mood. They are big but that lets you see them in all their glory.

A BIG thank you to John Wagner and all the staff at The Peach Tree for making this possible

General / Judge Burdis and his clone hit the streets!
02 August, 2012, 04:09:53 PM
I had a 6 day window to do this in, all thanks to Steven Sterlacchini - Director of Judge Minty (The reason will become clear after this weekend)
I just so happen to have an extra uniform in my house and amazingly Sam managed to fit into it, with a few clips holding the trousers and jacket tight! Obviously I chose another horrendously hot day to do this, just to annoy us both and poor Caz, as she had to take the pictures.

These are on my facebook page but I know some of you don't frequent such places, cough Proudhuff, cough!

Like Father, like son!

It's all in the chin!

Lets hit those streets!

Film Discussion / Dredd articles in magazines
25 July, 2012, 06:51:37 PM
Last year we had that article in Empire, well the latest EMPIRE issue 279 has a 9 page article inside, from page 76-85 and it's quite good.

It starts with this:-
ULTRA-VIOLENT.
UNIQUELY CONCEIVED.
HIT BY CONTROVERSY.
SHOT IN 3D. STALLONE-FREE.
IT'S THE ADAPTION 2000 AD FANS HAVE LONG BEEN WAITING FOR, BUT DREDD IS ALSO THE MOST AMBITIOUS BRITISH INDIE MOVIE EVER MADE

It covers the whole start to finish process!
It has an interview with Lena Headley and she looks gorgeous in the pic used for that boxout.
It mentions the darker Dredd predictions from John Wagner.
Tharg's Top 10 Dredd stories.

So there you go folks, pop out and spend £3.99 or be a law breaker and read it on the shelves!

If anyone finds any more decent articles then post them here, mainly so I can go and buy the mag  ;)

Film Discussion / Keeping Dredd in the public eye!
14 June, 2012, 07:36:12 PM
What can we do to keep Dredd high in the public eye before the film comes out!

Earlier today there was a thread that asked you to follow a link to The Film Informant - the motion picture advertising resource and vote on the poster (just go HERE and click on the 10th star to do that). This is the sort of thing we need to do, especially as it doesn't take your time up! Iv'e posted that link on a few facebook sites and am about to post it up on Twitter!

If anyone finds any sites that are promoting the film (however small) we need links on here so we can put some posts up (everyone else does this sort of thing, so why not us for a change). Then we can stop any bollocks about Stallone in it's tracks and also counteract any posts by a certain person.

Other things we can do is wear our Dredd/2000 AD tops more often, subliminal messaging!

Anyone else got any ideas or new sites to visit then post them up

General / Planet Replic Judges on patrol
25 April, 2012, 04:45:20 PM
Seeing as I've only posted most of these pics on Twitter and Facebook I thought I'd better share some on the forum, as I know many don't frequent those two social sites!
I hope that as more people buy the uniform we can get some great shots of mass beatings, as we patrol the streets and convention halls.

These were taken by Steve Green when I was at Demoncon3 in Maidstone and they include a few on the streets followed by a few creators getting a smackdown  ;)

And now for the creators.
First up Dan Abnett

Laurence Campbell

Jack Lawrence

We've been a bit lax as of late sorting one of these out and those Northern gatherings, with their 3 and 4 person meet ups have been getting the better of us.

Having spoken to SBT just now (shift work buggers us both up you see), we've come up with Saturday 23rd June meeting at  Forbidden Planet at 12:00. We'll do the usual thing shop, drink and chat. Also it will be the day after SBT's birthday, so we can give him the bumps  ;)

So anyone up for this?

I thought I'd do a thread for this talk, just in case any of you naughty forumites don't check out my Cellar of Dredd blog.

The video is in two parts and due to the lack of having a HD camera it will look shit the larger you watch it! Apart from that, sit back and enjoy the talk and find out how Judge Dredd dies  :o :'(

News / Ro-Jaws from 3A
24 February, 2012, 07:44:53 AM
Just read the latest newsletter from 3A about this old rust bucket and it says:

QuoteMarch will see the release of RO-JAWS in 1/6th mode, a truly classic robot and we are most proud to be able to bring him to you!

Obviously (he says) it will cost less than Mongrol, so more people are in with a shout of buying one of these.
