It's ok for Britain, America, Germany, to have WMD's- even though their collective histories all show them to have a tendency to threaten/ invade neighbours/ anyone who doesn't agree with them. But woe betide anyone else having them, even if the aforementioned western powers sold them to you in the first place! The Americans wanted the contracts and revenues from the oil, same in Afganistan. End of story- everything else is bullshit. The US didn't have such moral compunction in eastern Europe, nor yet over the carry on in the middle East, or Chechnya. 9/11 doesn't even enter the equation, as Saddam had nothing to do with it.
A bunch of greedy, power-mad bastards had a falling out and ordinary people from Iraq, Britain, US and others are now paying the unacceptable price for their tiffs.
A blind man could see what destabilising the country was going to do- especially considering it's proximity to Iran.

Wouldn't put it past the Justice Dept to be filling their judges food with drugs to supress 'urges'. I tend to agree with the 'that's why he's such a fascist' theory somebody mentioned earlier.

Given that he was grown in a lab and raised by Justice Department, you can be guaranteed that old stoney face couldn't find his way round a womans nether regions with satellite tracking, a digi-map and a birdie lie detector!

1/ Get fucked up on cider and magic mushrooms, crash out at foxhunts and call it 'sabotage'.

2/ Get fucked up on cider and magic mushrooms, crash out at political demonstrations and call it 'protesting'

3/ Get fucked up on cider and magic mushrooms, and adopt a (correct me if I use the wrong term here- what with me being a foreigner an all) 'West Country' accent.

4/ Get fucked up on magic mushrooms. Shit yourself

5/ Live in a 'squat', which is really some place mum and dad will buy for you when 'studying'(ie: getting fucked up on cider and magic mushrooms) and call it a 'commune'.

Here ends the manifesto of the crusty party.
Now go back to your muddy fields and prepare for... getting fucked up on cider and magic mushrooms!

Scalded and burned drawing hand puts me out this time. It's the bits between the fingers that fucked me up. Healed soon.

I went for Burns- IMO he barely puts a foot wrong- colours both sublime and at times spectacular, stunning scenes and panels that work as paintings in their own right for the most part. Some of his depictions of Dante's brooding and moments of melancholy speak volumes more than the dialogue. I think Robbie makes good use of what he knows Burns does exceedingly well- create mood and atmosphere with some well chosen smears of paint. Yet I also like his line and washier stuff too!
I think Simon's is probably the more imaginative work- and  his early work on Dante pretty much sets the look, unless he decides to tweak it. I imagine that, because the character is partly his creation, that gives him more confidence to 'run riot' on the design work. I assume John, knowing that the character isn't really 'his', might possibly be a little less willing to tweak and alter things. I do think Simon's last outing was below his par, though. Which is a pity, Lulu's death deserved his best but there were a couple of panels I couldn't really tell what was happening and IIRC there is an odd panel sequence where the story jumps rather awkwardly, though that's probably just as much Robbies fault...

2000ads strength has always been about variety, and I like that. Burns' work is fairly unique at the moment, as there seems a big trend for the colour work to be mostly computerised and I'd hate to see him being pushed aside like Ron Smith, Massimo, Redondo etc. just because it isn't the latest look. That said, there will always be a place for Simon Frasers work in my prog too!

Read most of this before- why can't they keep the Dredd reprints for the Meg, and use the EE's for stories that won't get the graphic novel treatment? People complain about the Meg not being 'Dredd- enough' and cry out for many series to be reprinted. Then they do this... daft. I'm not keen on the cover Dredds lip, his left hand side, looks like it has been punched into a swollen lump, and the whole helmet is stretched across the width of his face, causing dodgy perspective and Art Rage!
Still, I'm just grumpy cause I haven't got the last Meg yet, apparently my local thrill merchant was being supplied by W H Smith in Inverness, who recently offloaded a whole load of workers, so supply was moved to W H Smith in Dundee. And they cocked it up. Cunts.

I'm in agreement with taking the power away from the music business, Johnny- what difference does it make if a band is signed or not signed? Do you think that record labels are interested more in quality than MONEY? What you really should be asking is- do I LIKE what that band is doing? Do you really need someone else to tell you which music is good and which not to bother with? If soi, I'd say you're not really a music lover- just a hipster who wants to be seen as doing all th right things.
If a band is offering free, no strings attatched music to download for you to sample, surely there's no harm in giving it a quick listen- hey, you might even be impressed!

I can't believe they've killed Carlos Sanchez Robostogie- wasn't it Grant who killed Johnny Alpha as well?  Him and Stogie had better be back- imagine killing these sterling characters off and continuing to resurrect crud like Anderson! Perhaps he's paving the way for the 5 of Spades to be a new sidekick (I hope not, dare I say it- far too two dimensional a character! And 'Sinorita' is way better than 'toots'), along with a cybernetic Sam Slade-
heh! Heh! Slades and Spades! Sorry!
Dante and Sin/ Dex moving along nicely, but overshadowed (IMO) by all else at the moment- in another prog they'd shine.
Origins being back is great- I can't believe it's nearly over already, doesn't feel like a meg-epic! Continuing to enjoy Savage. Very strong prog, great cover.

Film & TV / Re: New Dredd film...?

I'm all for some sort of animated 2k based series- how about ABC's in one of those CGI thingy films, like final fantasy. I would like to avoid any of the  living characters being done like this. Nifty as it is, they still look like shop dummies! A cartoon-type series would be better IMO.
Am I the only one who thinks the Dredd vs Death graphics were pish?
