Awesomeness. Is she for some sort of RPG Game since there's an impressive logo 'Mind Wars.'

Thanks. Nah, she's from Starlord comic- there was a story called Mind Wars by Alan Hebden and Jesus Redondo about twins caught in the middle of an interstellar war between Earth and some aliens. They were weaponised with mind powers and get chased about by both sides. IIRC, it ended just before the merger with 2k and so never got into the merged titles- there was a bit of scope for it to continue though. Maybe it wasn't popular enough, but the art was eyewateringly good. The logo is just a copy of the series logo- great logo though.

I'm holding some Amazon vouchers back for the 3rd Monsterology collection, really enjoyed the first two books and champin' at the bit for the next one.

I forgot about this threads existence, haven't seen it in ages and there's a feast of great artwork on here. Not technically 2000ad related, but close enough...

I went out for about an hour and was told "Fuck off you bastard!" by an old piss-head (not Proudhuff). So I did ,straight back to the safety of the hotel bar.

I'd have thought that was common parlance in Glasgow...

Looks like a grand time was had by all, with the exception of some bar shenanigans.

Shameless piggybacking and apologies to Molcher if I'm breaking protocol, but here goes...

Any Scottish fans who couldn't make the full 200AD 40th birthday bash down in London last Saturday, the good news is Colin MacNeil and I are dong a special sketching/signing event at the Biggar Library from 1pm this Saturday, February 18th. More details here:-

http://viciousimagery.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/2000ad-event-with-acclaimed-comics.html

It's to celebrate the publication of the new Thrill-Power Overload and to support the local independent bookshop Atkinson-Pryce [Scottish independent Bookshop of the Year, as it happens!].

Hmmm- if push comes tae shove, I reckon I could do early bus down, late bus back and save on slum-dosshoose overnighters, unless there's a meet-up in some dingy, weegie drinking-hovel the night before.
Early doors yet, but I'm a provisional yes, with added butteries-baggage to tempt the waverers.

For now...

Judge Dredd and its related strips are well known for their "swearing" policy ... why do that and at the same time occasionally put images like pentagrams, inverted crosses and even a baphomet?

Because the expletives you refer to were invented forty years ago, when the comic was pitched at 8-12 year old boys.

The earliest instance of the occult imagery you mention was the Anderson story The Possessed - by which time the 8 year old who picked up prog one was old enough to join the army, have sex, and decide for himself whether he wanted to worship Satan or not.

It's no longer "censorsing" or a "policy" - the old farts who still read the comic just like everything to be the same as it was when they were eight. As Jayzus says, you can't move for all the Gods, Christs, cocks, bastards, and shits in here nowadays. Even the odd cunt.

Ride me sideways, that was another one ...

well, you say all that, but I reckon Tharg has just been hanging about these Isles so long he's turned into the same kind of potty-mouthed degenerate as the rest of us.
