Creators hate critics, creators dont need critics, creators crave critics. Evaluation of your own work is highly desired, at the cost of opening yourself to hurtful flak from others. It can also be benificial.The problem is that 'friends' may just try to be nice and say it's great- to encourage you, which satisfies a low level of the craving. Higher levels must be satisfied with opinions 'holding authority', such as professionals, fellow wannabes, or critics. So critics- we don't need them, we certainly don't like them, but we WANT THEM. As long as they don't hurt us.

I always liked the guns in Strontium Dog- kind of futuristic versions of flintlock pistols. Carlos seems to draw the gun a little bulkier than most peoples of the same gun. I seem to remember it looked rather small and silly in Ron Smith's otherwise utterly fantabulous art. The newer one is a bit ho-hum. I prefer the older one- but i had assumed it was just a nostalgia thing- it was like that for a very long time. What it represents is a slight erosion of the original vision- in the next ten years will someone say "Lets get rid of all that big stoopid shoulder padding- and that helmet just isn't cool. People forget that what looks cool now sometimes looks terminally stupid later and finding something timeless and iconic is very difficult.

If the Gronk no longer exists, then 'The Gronk Affair' didn't happen, which means that Hiss, Cuss and Silent Weird never died. Or Does Silent even exist? Hmmm...

What would the collective term for droids be anyway? A cache of droids? For what it's worth- i'm not a John smith fan either- his beer is piss and his adverts really annoy. Oh and Devlin Wah-Wah is a load of old cock. Murky horrible art and meh plots. Usually bursting with tons of great ideas that it deftly manages to avoid exploring other than on a thoroughly superficial level. Someone give him a garlic enema before he starts off on another dull overcomplicated yet somehow utterly bANAL adventure. Lapsed catholic? Who gives a toss. Is it coz he's gay/ i'm homophobic? Not at all- most of the references to his sexuality are jokey one liners in the style of Julian Clary or Graeme Norton etc- funny, but not offensive to me. It's just boooooooring.
