Games / Forza 4

Any Forza fans on the board?

Had a quick go this morning and it's fantastic - even better than Forza 3.
The handling is absolutely sublime and the graphics are stunning. I think I'm going to clock up some serious hours on this one!

Ha ha. i love the way that Qui Gon Jin, Amidala and Anakin don't even feature on the new poster now that everyone knows what crappy, boring characters they are! Anakin's supposed to b the main protaganist and he isn't even on the poster!

Prog / Re: Prog 1755: A Loaded Magazine

Pretty average prog for me.

I'm pretty fed up with PJ Maybe. It used to be cool to see someone beat Justice Department because the JD always seemed so un-beatable. We now have a situation where JD are shown to be incompitent and de-powered every time they're up against PJ which is just frustrating.
The bit with the cadets was good though.

I like Angel Zero. Not much has happened but it's atmospheric and has great art.

Low Life is slightly amusing but I find the Dirty Frank thing is wearing thin and I'm always frustrated by Dredd world strips that are ignored by the actual Dredd strip itself. I can't see the point in them - I'd rather we just had them set in another future city or something.

The Bob Byrne thing isn't even a story, it's just a barely fleshed out idea.

Ampney is alright but I really couldn't care less about any of these annoying characters.

Liked the cover and Droid life though.

Film & TV / Re: 3D - is the party over?

Well I've heard that a good rule of thumb is that it's porn that makes or breaks a format.

I should think there are some interesting possibilites for 3D bongo films!

Looks like Robert Downey jnr's getting all the best lines again!

I hope this carries on the trend of Marvel films being faithful to the comics while not taking themselves too seriously. Looking good so far.

Film & TV / Re: Last movie watched...

I've never seen Die Another Day. It's the only Bond film apart from Quantum that I haven't seen (not for any particular reason, just haven't got round to it).
I really want to watch it now to see what all the fuss is about!

My favourite Bond film is 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. Love Roger Moore, love Jaws, sexy bond girl, union jack parachute. Brilliant! And on top of that there's a submarine Lotus Esprit!

Back on topic the last film I watched was Stephen King's 'IT' (technically a TV mini series).
It was pretty good. Typical Stephen King childhood nostalgia and a decent monster but the scariest thing was the 90's fashions (particularly the hair cuts) and piss poor soundtrack.

There's something about 90's American tv soundtracks that is just unbelievably awful (Masters of Horror and Outer Limits suffer too). Everything sounds like it's off one of those 'Copyright free' CDs.

News / Re: Manga format Dredd books?

I have an old 'Judge Dredd vs Otto Sump' paperback somewhere. They released a few in the late 80's - a Dark Judges on and a Fatties one I think.
I really like this format - it's nice and convenient and they fit on the shelf with ordinary paperbacks.
I think it's a good way of collecting a series of similarly themed stories and not just mega epics necessarily.

Books & Comics / Re: DC to relaunch with 52 #1's

So far I've read Detective Comics 1 and 2, Action Comics 1 and 2 and Batman 1.
I've enjoyed them all and still have Batman and Robin and Dark Knight left to read.

I'm not sure what the time frame is for all these different Bat stories though. It seems that Detective may be set a couple of years earlier than Batman - there's no mention of a Robin whereas Batman features Dick, Tim and Damian as well as more advanced Bat-tech.

Action Comics is just great fun. I'm not sure Rags Morales is a particularly great artist - some of his anatomy and perspective looks pretty wonky to me but reading the 'behind the scenes' articles makes me appreciate the amount of thought he's put into his designs.

Do foetuses dream? In fact do they sleep?
If they do dream, they must just dream of sounds because it's all they know.
Same with blind people.

Is a sequel confirmed?
I'd heard plans had been knocked on the head after dissapointing box office.

River Song is married to the Doctor (she dies in the Library in a story with David Tennant as the Doctor) and yes,the Doctor that got shot was the robot.
The question was 'Doctor who?'.

Excellent, really enjoyed that!
I was surprised we didn't get a trailer for the Christmas special - don't we usually get one at the end of a series?

The only person I've ever know call trousers 'pants' was a scouse girl at university. She was all covered in acne.
