Durham Red (original version)
Judge McGruder
Halo Jones
That woman who's family Johnny Alpha saved from the slavers of Drule
Judge Anderson

Narrowly missing out on the top 5 was either Magna or Chandra, whatever one was the bad love rival for Nemesis's affections. She was a great baddie.

The Goonies is indeed shit.
I would've been about 10 when I first saw it and I hated it straight away. I never liked watching programmes or films where the heroes were other kids my own age. All the kids in this film are smug little shits and self-conciously wacky in that way that only pushy American parents and marketing people think is 'cute'.
If I want to hear American kids scream for ninety minutes I'll set them on fire thanks.

Well after looking through that blog page, maybe G Powell is Warren Ellis and Crispy is Lazarus Churchyard.

Well that's something at least!
Thanks.

I seem to remember Hedley eating pork pies and drinking tomato sauce instead of biting people. Class!

Not doing a very good job holding it up is he?

That's really sad, he sounded like a great bloke.
After reading that artcle I can vividly remember both the 'Abolish Tuesdays' signs and the little crank box.

I think one of the most original comedies was 'The Young Ones'. They were all bloody monsters in that, although Rick was probably the worst.
Interestingly, although I actually like 'The Good Life' Vyvyan's diatribe against it is spot on. Especially the bit about Richard 'sugar flavoured snob' Briars!

That's great, thanks for the link. It's great to see Mike's Bike again. I can remember when the bike changed, it was really exciting at the time!
It's really strange about Deadly Headly, it's like he never existed. I think he may have been drawn by the same guy who went on to draw Sweeney Toddler but I'm not sure.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I was trying to find out some info on some characters and strips from the old funny comics I used to read as a child. I can't seem to find any references to some of my favourite characters. The best site I've managed to find is International Hero but it's a bit patchy.
Some of the strips I am interested in are  'Our Sherriff's an Ape', 'Deadly Headly: Vampire Detective' and 'Mike's Bike'.
Thanks.

Quote from: "Matt Timson"
Quote from: "Leigh Shepherd"If Mary Shelley is in it, it will surely confirm the writers are self obsessed to the point of narcissism:

Lets see..  Historically they ahve met

Dickens - writer
Queen Victoria - Queen
Shakespeare - writer
Agatha Christie - writer
and then another writer?

Give me Gervais as Hitler damn you!

You've got a time machine.  You can go anywhere- meet anyone.  You're hardly going to nip back to a week last Thursday to meet Paul Scott, are you?!?

Yet they've still not met Elvis!

Don't you...step on my Doctor Who

I've got the episode title and everything.

No way was it as good as scampi!
Crab sticks maybe.

Quote from: "Keef Monkey"Also, apologies if this was mentioned in last week's thread, but what the hell happened to Billie Piper's speech? We had a theory that there were complications when she crossed dimensions and she's wound up with someone else's teeth, because I really don't remember her having such a pronounced Janet Street Porter disorder.

Has she had one of those 'trout pout' things done? Maybe it was Sea Devils?

Quote from: "Uncle Umpty"I watched this with great interest and have come to the conclusion that I'd still d Jackie before going anywhere near Rose.

Agreed. I quite fancied her in 'Nuns on the Run' aswell.

All I want from New Who is for it to be as good as most of the Moffat episodes and not as shit as most of the RTD ones.
In a couple of years it looks like I'll get my wish.
