Didn't know where to put this so started a new thread.

Just a quick call out to all you action figure collectors - Home Bargains have 6" Star Wars black series figures on sale for £5.99 which seems like a bit of a steal.
I picked up a Tie Pilot, X-Wing pilot (the alien one), Rey with BB8, Kylo Ren and New Order Snowtrooper in the shop. If you fancy a lucky dip you can order from the website here:
http://www.homebargains.co.uk/products/12664-star-wars-black-series-action-figure.aspx

Thought some of you may be interested.

Trump has fired the guy investigating Trump's links to Russia, FBI director James Comey - despite his only being 3 years into the 10-year fixed term of service in the role intended to stop just this kind of thing from happening.
Pretty sure this is how the opening credits montage of dystopian dramas begin.

But something to bear in mind is that Snake Plissken isn't real. So if Trump builds a big wall around Manhatten and then falls in there'll be no one to get him out.

I really don't like Del Toro and I'm indifferent to Hellboy. Some of the comics are quite good but I didn't enjoy the films.
I do like Neil Marshall though - The Descent and Dog Soldiers are two favourites of mine. Doomsday is a fun b-movie style adventure (but his weakest film) and Centurion was a cool historical action film.
I'm excited to see Neil Marshall return to feature films after a few years doing TV.

I thought last night's episode was the best I've seen of this series.
The wood-woman was pretty freaky - probably quite scary to kids even though she wasn't a baddie as such (which seems to be the theme of this series).

Somehow I've always considered Pot Noodles to be inherently depressing. They require too much faffing about to be a proper snack and not enough faffing about to be a proper meal. It's like artificial food for the borderline suicidal.

The last time I ate a Pot Noodle was a particular low point in life;

At the age of 19 me and my best mate quit our jobs to go work in Jersey for the summer.
Instead of looking for a job or permanent place to stay, we just went out drinking every night.
Instead of budgeting our cash, we splashed out on a hangover cure in British Home Stores every day.

By night 8 we had exactly enough money left for a return flight to Dublin and a Pot Noodle dinner- which we ate using our toothbrushes as we didn't have any forks in the guesthouse.

Low point?
Sounds like a right laugh for a 19 year old.

Shreddies had Superman 2 scenes too (also with those scribble-on transfers). Any Jaws 3D ones that you had to look at through 3D glasses that were packed in the box (actually that might have been Sugar Puffs).
I think Weetabix had Flash Gordon stickers.

I never watched them because the heroes in them were children (really annoying looking children). I never really liked films which had other kids as the heroes - so didn't care much for ET or The Goonies either.
(Grange Hill was good though - I could relate to those kids).

I quite liked the Ewoks cartoon though. I liked it better than Droids.

I know a girl who's a hedgehog expert.
Hedgehogs and eels - she loves them.

Me too. Four books and a lovely big poster! I'm really impressed with the quality.
Here are some pics for anyone who's interested:

Depending on your score the machine pumps out a load of tickets which can be exchanged for prizes in the arcade.

A huge pile of Titan reprints which my brother borrowed from a friend got me on board.

You very rarely see decent old comics or retro games at car boot sales anymore.
And you never get Jumble Sales. They're always 'Vintage Fairs' or 'Collector's Markets' where everything is overpriced.

Proper arcades with more than just fruit machines within.

There's a current practice of releasing updated versions of classic games, repurposed as ticket winning machines.
There's a Galaga one, a Pacman one and a Space Invaders one on Yarmouth sea front.
They're not as good as the real thing but still quite nice to see.

There's definitely a lack of occasion caused by the ease in which our entertainment is now available.
I can remember being incredibly excited when the Xmas Radio (for BBC) and TV Times (for ITV) came out. My brother and I would go through and mark out all the films we wanted to watch. When Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark were first on TV it was an incredible family event. You don't get that now. Whatever the big Xmas film is (this year on BBC1 it was Frozen) you can almost guarantee that the kids already have the DVD.

And internet porn has almost certainly killed the thrill of a new Freemans or Kay's catalogue coming through the door.
