Games / Re: Long live the Sega Megadrive!

I have a fairly healthy collection of Megadrive games - it's my favourite system.

Favourites of mine are Ranger X, Super Fantasy Zone and Shadow Dancer. Oh, and Wonder Boy in Moster World!

For 2000ad connections, the Judge Dredd game is decent, as are all of the Strike series.

I notice Daily Mail label the Remainers as "Remoaners"

I find that hilariously witty. What mastery of the English language.

I had a friend who used to fantasise about getting run over by a steam train.

When it finally happened he was chuffed to bits.

I've got a new dog that can do magic tricks.

It's a labracadabrador.

I'm not sure exactly what the purpose of yesterdays attack in London was but it seems to have been a victory for Britain First and like-minded racist nutters.

That's exactly the purpose: to provoke ground-level hatred, and harsh legal/judicial responses, which serves to marginalise the muslim community and lends credibility to the arguments of those who would radicalise British muslims.

Yes I think you're right and it's incredibly depressing to see that people fall for it. Especially on social media where people you thought were pretty much decent, loving people are swept along on the tide of racism.
Sadiq Khan is being held up as responsible by some people - as if he's some kind of enabler to Islamic terrorism. It's nasty stuff.
I was wondering what the ultimate plan was though and how far the attacker thought he'd get with a frontal assault on Westminster. I suppose we'll probably never really know.

Some of the shit they're posting on social media in the wake of yesterday is mind-boggling.

um... I really like The Order- it's been the first story I read every time it's in, it's awesome sauce and I'm a thicky. As I don't look in on the review threads very often I wasn't aware there was so much anti- for it.

Part of its appeal for me is the mad, apparent incoherence of it all. Mrs Deever and I had a similar conversation about Legion on the telly- she's into detective show stuff (I hate that kind of talky drivel) where it engages by allowing you to try to 'solve the mystery' before the protagonists do. She found Legion frustrating and confusing, whereas I'm not trying to 'figure it out', I'm just along for the ride and enjoying the dream-like quality and the mad jumble of incomprehensibility.
I feel the same way about The Order (though it's much less jumbly) , the quality of the art helps too, but it's not just the art that keeps me interested- there's a real 'old school comics fantastical' feel to it for some reason. Superb stuff, love it- more please, Kek-W, Burns and Tharg.

I've been enjoying The Order and Kingmaker most recently (Hope (for the future?) was great too- please come back). All else is just there (even Dredd has been relatively ho-hum for a bit, for varying reasons) and gets read, with the exception of Kingdom- I stopped even looking at that several series' ago and just skip past entirely.

I agree with most of this but I love Kingdom too! I just love Gene the Hackman though - I could read a comic about him peeling potatoes and be quite happy.

So how come Cliff Robinson doesn't live in a glittering tower where he counts the money he's been paid for doing Batman covers?
Not that I'm complaining or anything. The longer he stays chained to the drawing board in Tharg's cellar, the better.

I can remember them showing Star Wars and Empire as a double bill (I guess this was around the time Jedi came out). The posters for the double-bills were always really cool.
There were definitely some Nightmare on Elm Street ones too.

Really! I'm "trolling" because I'm disagreeing with you Jim. Doesn't take much for you to resort back to insults, does it?

Constantly disagreeing with reasoned arguments without offering any counter argument is pretty-much trolling I think.

You may as well be posting 'nah nah nah - can't hear you'.

Last film I saw with an intermission was 'Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest' at the Hollywood cinema in Norwich.
Some kids behind me thought the film had finished!

That cover is absolutely fantastic. It looks really crisp and clean and modern but best of all it has amazing depth. Just look at it - it's almost 3D!

There are rumours (or fan talk at least) of possible bespoke Joy Cons for certain software.
Seems like it would be a pricey way of doing things though and would seriously effect the systems portable functionality if users have to cart various different controllers around with them.

Costner is an interesting one. I'm no fan but he's been in some decent stuff.

Female actors are much harder to call though. For example, I really like Geena Davis but I'd struggle to fill a day watching her films. Likewise Sharon Stone.
