Whereas I am virtually incapable of communicating verbally at all these days - partly due to my CBT routine, I just keep keep my mouth shut and my grunts noncommital as much as possible. This camping trip is sounding great crack altogether!

Ah FFS, this out of hand -  how do I turn off this predictive shite? Why would it think I was trying to write 'escutcheon'when I wanted 'cut'? "Paper cut".

That is groovy! Although I managed to get a papescutcheon on my nose on the process, it was worth it. NoWorth engaged on an interim re-read...

I've never seen any of the Godfather films.

Me neither. People think I'm insane when I tell them. Also, Reservoir Dogs, It's a Wonderful Life, neither Paddington, the Dark Knight(s), Inception and Interstellar.

Jayzus should definitely give BttF (all three!) a go. Although on a recent rewatch I found the way the attempted rape was presented quite disturbing and unnecessarily protracted. See also: Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (but if you haven't, please don't).

That cover is loverly but quite misleading!

Dredd a bit slow, a trip into the Generican jungle, a weird Archer-esque conversation behind a waterfall and that's your lot. Don't think Dredd is really here about a handful of nukes, that's not what was on Hershey's mind at all. But it all looks wonderful and I loved it all the same.

Brink is great, Kurtis and Gita always have such a fun rapport. Still chuckling about "over the shirt action" from the last series.

Defoe is genuinely interesting, and I'm really enjoying the shakeup in the art now.

Can't decide if it's a good or a bad thing that Deadworld's re-run of the nuke bit was so brief. Probably the former - I liked the Sovs' shocked reaction to seeing Death's capital. And I really liked Kendall's version of the Statue of Liberty!

Hope lost me a bit this week, but it sure is purdy!

Oh those drunken rascals, always playing tricks on his lordship.

A humorous book taken as their sole history text by far too many.

Does sound very tempting, doesn't it?

Heh, true, but I thought the blue couple on the left were in every spaceport Ezquerra ever drew!  The current Reaper Bones kickstarter is offering 20 ultra-neutral fantasy civilians for €20 and it seems very popular - shame something similar isn't there for SF.

Here's some of the Colony 87 stuff (not my photo):

I quite like them generic as I can use them for Stront - what I really need are some Citizens, which I could also use as bystanders in Stront to mix things up.  Looks like I am going to have to get those GW uglies repainted soon!

Have you seen the Colony 87 SF civilian minia, Leigh? They just finished a third KS campaign but I think the earlier figs are available retail from Gripping Beast. Quite a high proportion of aliens, but hardly out of place in MC-1.

I do think the starter minis are very nice, I just sort-of expect Dredd in a Judge Dredd game. That it costs £25 to add him to the game seems... calculated.

Essentially I feel the SD starter was better value - a clear artistic style, proper character minis for both sides, good chunk of terrain. Anonymous mooks, paper playmats and vehicle markers... ehnnn.

Minis themselves are lovely, definitely the best ever 28mm Dredd line, the cards look lovely and I forsee spending a great deal of cash filling gaps in my roster.

My thoughts are pre-order Starter from Warlord, then a Dredd/Lawmaster and Villains Pack from elsewhere, seems to get you a decent game for £100, and around 20 figures to paint. Judges and Fatties after that, I suppose.

It's a pity that the starter figures are so generic. If they'd gone with Dredd, and maybe some more memorable gang-level opponents (Gestapo Bob, Fonzo Bongo or even a cheeky not-Ma-Ma) I'do have the thing ordered already. I can see the reasoning, but still.

What's good for excessive naval fluff?
