tried to post here yesterday to lamnent the lack of F;loyde to sort this as he seems a bit of a Mad MAx fan.
from my memory (and its not too bad as I watched number one the other day, great DVD transfer but laking extras) Mad Max is pre-atomic wars, the world has just gone to shit due to lack of oil and in Australia at least there's been a complete breakdown in law and order with only the Bronze (Highway patrol) left, they are Judge Jury and executioner (where have i heard that before?).  By number two the War over oil mentioned in number one is over and the world is even more f*&ked but it doesn't specifically mention it was Nuclear but number 3's plot centres around it being Nuclear (the lost Children) so it got Retconned I think.
As for the movies I love the Cars and Stunts in number one and its just so go damn down beat and Nihlistic with a savage miserable end.  Number 2 is balls to the wall stunts, explosions and aussie accents. Number 3 seemed to be a Hollywood remake of Number 2 but lost the heart somewhere (probably when big wads of cash were being thrown around to get Tina Turner in on it) but is visually breathtaking once again with some of the best stunts ever.
I do wish they'd get number 4 up and running though maybe Son of Mad Max

well as I tried to post yesterday, some pretty positive reviews in geek circles at the mo but not so much for the movie more for how they are setting up the Marvel movie universe what with tons of references to SHEILD, Stark and Super Soldier Serums!!
so as a Marvel Zombie I think its gonna rock.

from what I've seen this looks pretty crazy, I like Night and Day Watch and it looks like the action in this will be just as balls to the wall.
Cars driving on sides of buses, knock trains of tracks and bending bullets, whats not to like.

I think that T4 rumour has been confirmed Shutdown man :(  they can sort of do what they want with the Termi movies and series really as its already been established that the Timeline is Maliable and can be changed.
The biggest paradox in the whole series is actually from second movie but relates back to the first.
 - Kyle Reese is John Connors father, he's sent back from the future to save Sarah Connor so John can be born.  this is all fine and works sort of,. In T2 (and 3 and the TV series) they want to stop Judgement Day from happening at all, now should this happen Kyle Resse will never be sent back from the apocalyptic future and John couldn't of been concieved, even more so the whole Skynet future war only came about because the built Skynet based on the tech in the first Termi's  wreckage which was sent back to kill Sarh etc etc.  The back story as a whole has never really meshed in my mind (though I love number 1 and have some respect for 2, blockbuster film making at its best).
