Books & Comics / Marvel Civil War
12 December, 2006, 07:09:13 AM
I haven't been getting the main of this but cant help but get the perifery books(which has been most Marvel core titles) anyone else think that this maybe should've taken place in the Ultimate Universe, I'm quite enjoying it it just seems that most of the characters aren't the same guys i'm used to.  Take Iron Man, I always thought he was anti Government and here we see him on the path to becoming Mega Facist Hero number one...WTF it just doesn't seem like him, Peter Parker unmasking, again I could see this in the Ultimate Universe but just doesn't seem in character for the standard Marvel U.  I like the story I just don't like it in the standard Marvel U.  Is there some big alien conciousness thing making all the Hero's act of kilter or has Mark Millar just lost the plot and decided all the Marvel U is his to play with?
I dont know seems like a pointless post but I just felt I needed to get t off my chest, I like Marvel, I like Ultimate Marvel i even like the whole Civil War idea it just shouldn't be standard U stuff.

Anyone else reading this, what do you think?

Thanks Amstor, that does look fantabulously cool no sign of photo referenced Toasters there ;).
Did I read right, 10 secoders are back soon but with Reardon on art? does that mean no more Cabs till hes done with this? be a shame.  Also wonder how the strip will feel with such a drastic change of style from Harrison's C.G. assisted efforts to Reardon sketchy style.

well I've got no choice but to play with my Wii now, my 360 decided it was going to have a major internal meltdown yesterday and is now blinking 3 red lights on the ring thing, and now I've got to send the fucker away to MS to get it repaired, at Xmas peak gaming and mail time.  Still at least I have my Wii to get by.

I've put the contoller in several non-gamers hands and told them to have a bash at Tennis and basicly sold several Wii's to my friends they liked the feel that much(good luck to them finding one though, none here anymore).
My main problem with it is the online system updates and stuff as I'm not online at home and refuse to get a P.C. can I just hook staraight up without a P.C to set it up, also heard it doesn't use much Bandwidth so if I hook it up can I hook my 360 up too(all this with out a P.C)?.

It is a cute little machine too, so sleek and just love the little angle tray they put it on stops you dropping disc's and stuff.  The HD-DVD player for the 360 looks bigger from the pictures.

Fav Wii Sport game would have to be Bowling, so much fun with mates even if you only have one controller.

My god, this thing rocks, picked it up yesterday after work spent the next 6 hours swinging, bowling, punching and shooting then had to calm my self down so I could sleep, haven't been like that since the Megadrive came out. Can't believe how solid the whole control scheme feels, and the feedback works perfectly(never been a fan of rumble but combined with the speaker it works), even makes an average 1st person shooter imensly enjoyable and imersive, I say to all, get one(if you can find one, they're all sold out here).

just finished season 2 me self, didn't like the Abortion episode me self and the black market one was a bit duff but I did enjoy the News one, nice example of propeganda.  Loved the end and Hanging to see season 3 and the bits I've heard it doesn't dissapoint.  The whole thing is a bit heavy on the Iraque(how the fuck is it spelt) allegories and the Pegasus was obviosly Guantanimo but hey thats what Sci-Fi is for.
Bit of Idle speculation but after we find out Caprica 6 has a Guyuis in her head like he has her in his, do you think he's a malfunctioning Cylon? or maybe he's number 1/leader/originator(read GOD) of the Cylons and just doesn't know it?  my thoughts anyway, it would be dun=mb and a cop out if he was but it would also explain so much.

Film & TV / Primer, the new Donnie Darko?
25 November, 2006, 06:02:15 AM
I watched this the other night, very low budget flick about time travel.  One hell of a head trip movie, will be watching several times to see if its as tricky as it seems to be to me.
Anyone else seen it? comments?, am I dumb for not getting it or is it truely gobbldygook.  Maybe I should have a Masters degree in physics to get it, still entertaining though.
