Christopher Nolan + Judge Dredd = FTW!

The banner thing could be interesting. Though I think I'd prefer 50x50 as a compromise. That's pretty much the smallest size I've ever seen on a message board.

I did the exact same thing with my first post.

control panel > overview > manage drafts > load draft

at last, well I'm a bit dumb and had no idea this was sitting on the bottom of the maintanence page, thought it was still down like the site.

It took me a week before I bothered trying that myself.

Options > more options > safe and blocked senders

Although I've never used it for that purpose. I had one email where I had to click 'show content' every time and putting it on the safe list didn't seem to work. Maybe it'll work in your case though.

weird glitches with colours

It's only noticable on the board index. The blue forum boxes flicker to black and sometimes stick that way. There may be a plugin I haven't downloaded since a recent reformat but it's nowhere near irritating enough for me to bother.

Looks nice. Maybe I was doing something wrong but the old version was probably the strangest looking forum I've seen.

I'm noticing a few weird glitches with colours momentarily overlapping other sections, similar to what happens on Myspace sometimes, but apart from that it seems to work fine.
