enclosed a picture of him holding the books looking very pleased

Hmmm.

"Hi. Thanks for the books, they're great. Here's a photo of me holding the books, naked and erect."

Hehehe. This thread is beginning to give me flashbacks to the 80s and the whole Amstrad/C64/Speccy nonsense. ;)

Or maybe an 'Ellis round'; non-lethal, but makes the target's knees hurt.

Although used in the past, marker shells could be made a permanent fixture of the Lawgiver for numerous Byker Grove-esque moments.

Having my design head on, I think solid would be the way to go, but cut in at the right places to have an empty helmet look. A plain pole coming out of the helmet into a flat, weighted base would be nice and undistracting.

scaled down versions of different helmets

Tbh, I like that idea far better than full-sized, wearable ones. I've seen miniture medieval hemets, about 4 inches high and on their own stands, that look bloody great.

Reading what some owners of the 360 are having problems with, it appears that the power supply *is* the problem, it being that it doesn't like being put on the carpet.

Eventually, I can see us getting both, tbh (the DS for Malchi, the Micro for me) although I *would've* liked the Micro to support older GB games as well, as there are some great mono puzzly games that you'll never see made as Advance ones (Amazing Tater, for example).

As is the norm with me, I'm in no hurry at all to get any next gen consoles (I've only had a PS2 for the last year), but one thing I *am* eyeing up is the Game Boy Micro.

Back on topic, I played Half-Life 2 a few weeks ago and thought it was great; Ravenholm being one part that *really* sticks in my mind. :)

With the same amount of money as the cost of a 360, you'd probably be able to dramatically upgrade your PC, or even buy a completely new base unit.

I'd hold off for a while on the 360, tbh. I hear they've got an overheating problem at the mo that causes them to crash a lot.

would pronounce it "twoth" and that'd be really dumb.

Almost as bad as pronouncing "prog" as "progue"... ;)

I remember first experiencing the term "tooth" on the newsgroup and old Wednesday chat nights (thanks again for fucking that up for us, Mongo), but have personally referred to it since I was a kid as "two thousand".

next he'll be letting some blind woman feel his face so she knows what he looks like.

IIRC, that's already happened, but with a blind, weeping little girl.
