I don't subscribe, but buy them from Smiths and take my pick from the four issues. I generally go for stories that are a bit different than your bog standard, generic war stories or ones that are drawn by an artist I recognise. Some weeks I'll leave with maybe two out of the four, other weeks I won't buy any at all.

I'd better get cracking on this year's poster, then. :)

I think that cancelling Shedcon and rescheduling for the 5th December is jumping the gun a bit when there's been no *official* confirmation that a Dreddcon proper is actually happening. For all we know, it could be a Rebellion-organised smugfest in the men's bar of an Oxford working men's club.

Friday 31st October, 7.30pm - COMIC FESTIVAL LAUNCH PARTY
The Cartoon Art Trust Museum in Bloomsbury plays host to introductory speeches from star guests, a look at some of the most exciting comics in the world today, and drinks. Admission free to all advance ticket buyers.

"..and drinks" and the actual venue makes me think this is going to be a 'wine-on-a-table' evening. No mention of a bar at all.

Also available should be more dodgy original artwork from the House of Wils! This means, of course, that there'll be a new poster this year. Not certain if I'll manage to do postcards again yet,though, but I'll see what I can do.

++NECRO POST ALERT++

It would probably be a longer fight than the one in They Live.

Finally got round to buying this on DVD at the weekend (a bargain at ?4.75 from Music Zone!).

From first punch to actually putting the shades on is 5 minutes and 10 seconds. ;)

I'm not sure if that's actually possible.

From www.imdb.com:

"As an apocalyptic event takes place that could shift the control of the planet Earth from the hands of humanity to the claws of vampires, the Daywalker, Blade (Snipes) is the only person who can turn the tide of the crisis against the undead blood suckers and prevent the world from becoming a "Planet of the Vampires". To make things a lot harder for Blade, the vampire leadership launches a public relations "smear campaign" against Blade, letting the world of humans know that he exists, so that the police start hunting him down, thinking he is some sort of horrible monster..."

When I was little, my brother tried (and succeeded) to upset me by putting his fingers in my mouth, *saying* that they'd been up his arse. When it'd all been forgotten about, I returned the favour, not saying a word, allowing the taste in his mouth to let him know exactly where my fingers had been.
