Eating black pudding straight out of the wrapper is like a kind of carnivortastic version of a Mars bar. Yum!

Ya' can't beat chips deep fried in Lard.

Too right. I don't know if anywhere else in the country still does, but Barnacles chippies here in the North East still use animal fat to fry their chips and they're bloody great.

Y'know, thinking about these "checks" now... I can't figure out the actual point of checking on the kids: "Well, I've just looked in on the kids. They're not missing or dead yet, so we'll give it half an hour and check again."

Another thing that makes this thing about the 'checks' not ring true, apart from the changing time between them, is that the friend who was with them says that they went out the same time every night of the holiday; 8:45. The news reports said that the dad checked at 9:00 and then the mum checked at half nine/ten o'clock (depending on which report you see). If they left the hotel at quarter-to, that means they were planning on getting to the restaurant for 9, so anything about them checking at 9 or even quarter past is bollocks.

I'm not going to get into any discussion about the parents' shortcomings

Which is exactly my fucking point.

Tbh, I was really hoping that this wouldn't come up here, as I'm now going to throw in my tuppenceworth. I can't get over how the whole thing is being handled, not by the Portugeuse police, but by the media and seemingly everyone else. I know I'm going to get lynched for this, but...

...as deeply upsetting and worrying that this case is, am I the only person that thinks that people, especially the media, are glossing over the fact that her parents left her and her younger siblings alone in a strange place (every night by their friend's own admission) with obviously limited security outside of the offered creche (which they declined) while they went out on the piss, allowing this to happen in the first place? I wouldn't even do that *now* with Cait, and she's 12.

What is also suspicious is:

* The amount of time between 'checks' mysteriously changed in reports from every half an hour to every hour, which suggests they may not have checked on them at *all*.

* The distance of the place where the parents were also strangely changed from "several hundred yards" to "only a stone's throw".

* The appeal that looked like she was posing for a family photo, turned slightly to the side to try and look as great as she can, rather than an honest, frantic plea from a devastated mother who's had her little girl taken from her. (Malchi's observation. I've yet to see it, tbh.)

* The aura that both parents are giving off as they're being filmed is *wrong* (if you know what I mean).

* Interviewing the uncle, the slightest mention of Madeleine being left alone at night prompted him to basically say "you're not supposed to mention that" and rapidly change the subject to criticising the Portugese police.

And perhaps the most suspicious thing of all...

* There is absolutely *no* forensic evidence at all to affirm that someone broke in and took her, apart from the obvious forced window: No fingerprints, no footprints, no fibres, no hairs or anything else from anyone external either inside or outside the apartment. Yet again, this has been blamed on the police who apparently have some kind of special evidence destroying death glare.

Like I said, I can't get over the fact that although their daughter was taken, they're being treated like doting, devoted, saints of parents even though they've been leaving their kids alone every night to piss off out to a restaurant/bar. If they wanted that sort of holiday, they should've left the kids with the grandparents and
gone on their own. I can imagine the media reaction being *very* different if the family had been from a council estate instead of being GPs; they'd have been crucified.

All this said, I really do hope the little lass is ok and that the police find her soon. It's not right that she should suffer anything just because she has fucking shit parents.

Not seen these before. Made by the same peeps(?) who did Dead End, and proves (in my mind at least) that a 'proper' Joker *can* work on film.

The titles of this thread and Rio's new one has created a very Paul Rogers-ish theme to the messageboard. Now all we need is someone citing The Firm in a thread title...

I've woken up several times in the past on the sofa at five in the morning with the light on and the telly blaring out the cheesetastic music of Central Jobfinder, wearing the curry I was in the middle of eating when I passed out.

NONE of us can eat a burger whilst drunk without it self destructing though, it's not possible.

I have enough problem with them *sober*, so I don't even bother trying whilst pissed. Pizzas are my usual apres beer food these days, although it used to be kebabs, which you can eat particularly well whilst shit-faced, as long as you pick all the stuff out of it and don't try and eat it like a sandwich.

This is the kind of vid that I'd usually piss myself over, but knowing the background behind it, it's really a bit heartbreaking.

His ex needs a fucking slap, though. He's obviously got some massive problems at the mo and it seems like she's deliberately trying to making things worse for him. You reckon she's trying to get him to top himself?
