You can subscribe via a newsagent and then just pick them up.

There is that option but no 'freebies' that way.

Yes. Slightly bigger than A4 and quite bulky because of the number of parts in each package; they would easily fit through a medium dog-flap, letterbox not so much.  ;)

You are tempting me here.  Still not sure though.

It has a still/video camera...and wifi...and responds to voice commands!

So does my BB8 but to be honest the effect wore off pretty quickly and that only cost £80.
I'm getting this because...Well, shit, it just looks cool.

And he'll be the best friend you ever did have!

With a bit of research and patience, you could get close to constructing a 1:1 scale static R2 for the same price.

This was key for me - I'd rather have a beeping, tweeting, bells and whistles version and, as you say, you could only get close to a full-size static version for the same money.

You'll like this: upper and lower hull finally come together.

I thought I wouldn't be able to afford it, what with a one year old and buying a new house but with a mortgage that isn't costing as much as we thought it's on! I had delivery of the first two issues this morning and will post some pics when I get round to it. I will be finishing the Falcon before starting on this properly so, in the meantime, just in case you haven't seen it:

Because you demanded it: here's the Edwardian drinks' tray I bought (for a pittance, I might add) specifically for working on the fiddlier sections of the falcon. High sides and nice handles meant that no tiny parts could roll away unnoticed and I could carry it easier than one without handles! Sorry it isn't a table...

I know its not the point but can we see a photo of your work table? That' jewel' design we see glimpses off feels so familar to me but I have no context of how the table as a whole works?

As the Falcon seems to be getting ever closer I don't want to leave this thread without at least once seeing its unsung co-star.

I've been admiring that table too :)

You guys are...weird.

Oh come on we have over 13000 posts on a comic forum, you excepted well adjusted?

These things are all relative but fair point, well made.

it's the weird thumb-ring that I find distracting!

No need to get personal.  :'(

Ha! I had the same kit and had completely forgotten that awful bit of folded white paper!
