It's the three film sequel stories that ran in the Meg, all wrapped up in a gorgeous Henry Flint hard cover! Lovely...

It wasn't my idea, I was bullied into it by these fine fellows!  ;) Still, now I've started it I'm enjoying it enormously...

That looks incredible. Will you be making any alterations to the plans?

Oh good Grud no!  The most I will be doing is 'weathering' the metal pieces as they don't come pre-painted and maybe some dry brushing in places to highlight scorch marks etc. I am an enthusiastic amateur at best, I don't want to ruin it...

...Sorry.

Salad cream? On a chip? You disgust me!

I've had 2 pages from Simon previously (a cover and a spread) and they are luscious! I'd recommend everybody buy one!

I won't be subscribing to this but would like to cherry pick the odd volume from time to time. Any ideas if Hatchette (sp?) will be giving people this option? If not, any ideas where I might be able to pick up the odd copy?

It's 100 issues, so it's a 2 year build - works out to about £36/month which I'm lucky enough to be able to easily afford (and as I don't smoke and only drink once a month I don't think I'll miss it either)

Assembly wise it a variety of things - no glueing involved yet (but it will come), some pieces just snap into place and the rest are screwed into place (all of the metal framework is screws). I did mean to include a picture of one of the screws on my fingertip for scale because they are tiny bastards! Luckily, the  screwdriver that came with #2 is magnetic!

Off Topic / My Awesome Millennium Falcon Build Thread!
08 February, 2015, 05:47:41 PM
Alright already! Due to popular demand here's a brand spanking new thread dedicated solely to my feeble attempt to build the most expensive model I've ever bought.  I'd like to say straight off that I am a loooooong way off from being a modeller of anything other than amateur status (the hardest model, and the last thing I built, was the pod-racer from The Phantom Menace way back in 2000) so you will be witness to tears at some point I'm sure.

I will update the thread on a monthly basis (although the mag is weekly, as a subscriber I will receive a package containing 4 issues every month) as soon as I've build what I can and, next month, I will also include pics of the subscriber free gifts.  So, here we go and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have...

1: Exposed framework and part of outer hull

2: Dejarik Table

3:  Upper turret and quad cannon (I will be 'weathering' the cannon at a later date)

4: All of the above

5: Partial cockpit

I hadn't even thought of doing that, what with everyone having such a downer on the whole thing... I'll think about starting a new thread or maybe just hijacking this one - I already have photos of the first month's worth of 'build' and will update monthly but I'm currently only doing it on my facebook page...

I did! It's awesome!  :D

I don't recall seeing any Finn artwork for sale other than 4 (?) Mick Austin covers - I had 2, traded 1 with Wake and Skullmo has the others (I think), and a Clint Langley one. I've never seen a story page...

(On a related note, I hope the new edition of Ro-Busters appears back on the schedule at some point.)
Yes, the colour spreads will be included.

Just like the ABC Warriors hardbacks?  :o
