I don't think I've posted this one here yet; Paul Staples, Slaine, 'Kai'

I really don't understand why people are so down on this. I subscribed like a shot; it is already impressive and we're only on issue 3! It is absolutely huge. It's an exact replica of the Empire Strikes Back prop with the added feature of pull away section to view the interior and has lights! It's an incredible piece of kit! The same people who are moaning about the price tag (no one on this thread that I'm aware of) are all over subscribing for the Dredd collection - 80 books at £9.99, do the maths folks! - so I don't see the difference. I would probably baulk at forking out £900 in one go for it but I'm in a position where I'm not going to miss just over £35 a month! But even saying that, I have paid more than twice that in one go for a piece of original art and when you compare this to a 'piece of paper with a drawing on' it doesn't seem so bad...

Personally, I'm a big fan of NowTV which is, in essence, access to Sky TV without having it all installed. You can buy whatever package you like on a month by month basis and drop out whenever you like. For example, I bought a movie pass for £9.99 on Christmas Eve, this allows access to Sky movies for one month with no limit on how many films you can watch - I've seen 15 so far and still have 2 weeks to go!

Did he live in a domed city surrounded by dense jungle? If not, that's not it!

Many, MANY moons ago, when I was but a wee teen, I read a novel that I absolutely loved. This would have been somewhere between 1979 and 1983. All I remember, apart from the fact that I absolutely loved it, is that it was about a boy who lived in a domed city surrounded by a thick, forbidding jungle and, for some reason, he has to go out there! Any ideas? I'd love to revisit it...

My Nan died this morning, 18 years to the day, almost to the hour, that my Dad died. Two close family members dying on Christmas morning is just heartbreaking, however far apart they are.

Everybody else's contributions have been so superb that it makes my feeble effort of 'dicking about with a Christmas Carol' seem rather inadequate. Sorry chaps. Try and sing it to the tune of "Good King Wenceslas' and it'll be okay...

Chief Judge Hershey last looked out
On the Feast of Stephen
When the dead lay round about
Deep and crisp and steamin'
Brightly shone the lights that night
And the law was cru-el
When the poor man came in sight
I guess he was a fooo-el.

"Hither Dredd and stand by me
If yhou knowst it tellin'
Yonder perp there who is he?
Where and what his dwelling?"
"Ma'am he lives a good league hence
Underneath the West Wall
Living there is rather tense
As it is so taaa-ell."

"Right then Dredd now go from here
Take him to the cubes now
Gatherin' wallets from the dead
Is really rather uncool."
"I'm on it Hershey, just you wait
I'll batter him a new hole
He'll wish he hadn't stayed out late
On this Christmas Yu-el."

Dredd he bashed and Dredd he beat
He really smashed that perp up
Threw him in the cubes for 8
He almost never woke up!
Dredd he went along his way
Shooting and arresting
Just like every other day
He just put the boo-oot in.

Just remember Dredd is cruel
As are all the others
At Christmas do not be a fool
Be happy with your brothers
Grud is good and Jovus great
The spirit is within thee
But Law is Law so don't forget
To hide illegal tur-key.

Prices vary wildly between artists and what you want from them and the size of the commission, colour, pencil, ink, painted, number of characters etc. I'm happy to tell you what I paid for specific commissions if you want to have a look at what I have (follow the link) and then PM me but the best bet is to decide what you want, who you want it from and drop them an e-mail.

This sketchbook is already an amazing collection and Chris' Don Uggie is a worthy addition.
