Dean Ormston's Judge Hershey. More than any other artist, with the possible exception of Simon Harrison, Ormston's painted work is done a massive disservice on publication (and even in hi-res scans) as all of the texture is lost.

Another 4 to come - a Brashill, an Ormston and 2 by King Carlos...

How about this one? The hillbilly fury of Mean Angel captured perfectly by Steve Sampson!

I picked up a nice little haul of original painted pieces from the Edge card series. The first of these is this lovely Steve Sampson Hammerstein...

As soon as I found out that Jesus Redondo was taking commissions I knew I had to have one. After some thought (aka brief dithering) this is the brief I sent to him:

"In the 90s Titan were reprinting the Nemesis books and commissioning the artist for each book to paint an original cover. Sadly, Titan never reprinted the beautiful Bk II by Jesus Redondo. What I would like then is the cover to the collection that Titan never commissioned. A3 and painted if possible. Please..."

Painted in a mix of "liquid water colour mixed with gouache."

Huge thanks should go to Rebellion's own Sean 'Wiggz' for organising this for me. You Sir are a star and I would recommend everyone to email him now for some help with organising some Redondo gorgeousness!

The "Don't cremate me" controversy has been as bewildering as it is intruiging. The line did 't strike a chord with me despite having been present at two cremations for close friends last year, but had they been closer i'm sure it would have unsettled me. Even more so if it had been a family member.

If people are determined to be offended, they'll find something.

Exactly! We had both of my parents cremated and that line didn't offend me at all. It's just a story...

Can't believe I'm the first, this late in the day!

Everything is awesome this week and careering towards climaxes. Only weak link for me was Greysuit which, after a great start, has lost my interest.

Cracking Greg Staples cover!

I recently commissioned the wonderful Jesus Redondo to do a painted Nemesis 'cover' for me. I received it this week and it's stunning but before I show you that I'd like to share this - he included it as a 'Thank you' and has a lovely personal message written on the back. MASSIVE thanks to Rebellion's own Wiggz for organising this for me...

I quite enjoyed it; it was very much a 2000AD story published in the American monthly format.

I don't want QR codes slapped in the middle of my lovely comic... Put them in the recap section on the contents page if you have to.

Judge Dredd decided to pass a new law
That said limericks need to scan.
"If they don't work
You'll get arrested
And put on a chain-gang in the Cursed Earth, Creep!" he said.
