Did I see someone mention Clem Snide? Awesome band! I saw them open for Ben Folds. It was like the best of both worlds.

On the topic of Gibson's art, was anyone else stunned by how amazing he was in the Judgement Day story earlier this year, and yet, a couple of months down the road and he's handing this rubbish in?

Off Topic / Chris Beniot

Not sure how many of you guys are wrestling fans on here, but I figured I'd mention this anyway.

Yes, wrestling is a bunch of oil-slicked men hugging each other. Yes, it's fake and bad-tempered, but there is a lot of decent talent out there. Much of this talent can be found on the indy circuit, but one of the few decent wrestlers in the mainstream (i.e. WWE) recently passed away.

Chris Beniot was an extremely talented guy. I've been watching wrestling for about 15 years, but would only consider myself a true wrestling fan for the past 10. Throughout those years there is one guy whom I've never seen perform badly, and that guy is Chris Beniot.

He's wrestled some of the top names in the top companies, and has always made himself and his opponent look good. Although it is fake, when Beniot is up there, he makes wrestling look like the most professional, yet gruelling, sport known to man.

RIP Chris Beniot.

I think the covers awesome. We see a lot of covers with hard-hitting and in your face decisions (like the past 2), but this one's kind of thought provoking.

Dredd: A nice one-off. Ties in nicely with Dredd questionning the system in 2000 AD.

Anderson: We finally see some plot development, but it's far too late for me to care.

Sat: I liked last months edition, but I cringed at this helping. Am I meant to believe that Mega City-1 is going to pieces with demons running a-mock, whilst there are no reprocussions in any other Dredd story. Guess I have to use my imagination.

Angel Gang: I'm enjoying this. It has an interesting plot and the artwork is stunning. Roberts is certainly pulling out all the stops on this one.

Features: I loved the second part of the Horror feature, jolly good. Worley is witty as ever on the Movie Round-Up (totally agree with his view on Pirates 3).

Dredd: I'm liking this. Especially the artwork. I like Dredd artists who can convey the mood of Mega City-1.

Defoe: Probably the best Mills has done in a long time. He seems to have fit a lot in in this particular episode.

D-X: It's finally over, I'm so glad. Dull ending, yawn.

Grey: It's picked up in this episode. It still  needs to have a strong ending to render it a worthy strip.

Dante: The artwork is terrible, and the story doesn't do it for me. Shame as Dante has been shining up to this point.

That Dredd cover does look really gay, and that's coming from me!

Don't blame the booksellers. We don't lie, only send letters.

Prog / Re: Prog 1541 The Dead Walk..........

Dredd - It was ok. The script was alright, but Marshall's art is just too dull for my likings. Every artist should stand out for one reason or another, but as Marshall proved to me in this prog, he stands out like vanilla ice.

Defoe - Best thing in the prog. Great action, and a tidy back-up story in the mix.

DX - I really, really can't stand this. It's just a waste of five pages every week.

Greysuit - Not as great as Defoe, but is still something to keep an eye out for.

Dante - Bring back Burns is all I can say! The shape of Dante's face seems to change throughout the panels. In particular, check out the last panel, ouch.

For the second week in a row Mills makes the Prog for me.

Greysuit - I liked this, it's exactly how the first episode to a series should start off. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Dante - I found this episode lacking the pace of last week's. Hopefully it'll pick up soon.

Dredd - I don't know why but I couldn't get into this episode. I can respect the fact that Rennie's writing was rather witty, but it didn't do anything for me. Still, I loved Jock's artwork (am I right in saying the last we saw of him was Prog 1450's cover?)

Detonator X - Considering it's got one of the best writer/artist teams 2000 AD can offer, I still find myself bored senseless by it. I can't wait for this to end.

Defoe - Now we're talking. This second helping of Mill's is totally welcome.

6/10 - The only things I liked in this Prog we're the two new Mills series, and Jock's artwork.

Cover: The stuff nightmares are made of.

Dredd: Flint is one of the definitive Dredd artists and always manages to bring MC-1 alive.

Belardinelli feature: Touching.

A History Of Horror Comics: Really enjoyed this. It's well written and gives a definitive insight to one of the most interesting areas of comic book history. Reminds me, I must pick of the House of Secrets anthology.

Anderson: A bit dull. I like the artwork but Grant's storytelling is sending me to sleep.

A Holy Show - The Movies And Comics Of Alejandro Jodorowsky: Another feature that I enjoyed.

Blood Of Satanus III: I didn't like the first few episodes of this but I suddenly find myself hooked. I feel guilty for doubting this story.

Small Press: Good, but not as good as last month's edition.

The Killer In The Cab: Not Moore's best contribution.

The Angel Gang: Some cracking artwork. Not the best thing in the Meg but certainly not the worst.

You're skipping both the History of Horror Comics and Alejandro Jodorowsky features? Please tell me you'll read them at a later.

I loved the cover. Garbett reminds me of that Frank Quietly (spelling?) chap who works with Grant Morrison.

JD - Some great art from Boo Cook, really catches the imagination of Mega City-1. Thought the story was kind of dull. An average one-parter.

Twisted Tales - I prefered last weeks episode, but still find myself puzzled as to why they're in 2000 AD. They remind me of some crappy goth girl comics like Gloom Cookie or something.

Detonator X - For a series that promises giant robots fighting monsters, it seems to be taking it's sweet time. However, this episode was an improvement on the past weeks with an interesting concept in the works.

Sinister Dexter - I'm liking this, I'm liking this alot.

Dante - A cracking self-contained episode (well, kinda). Certainly the best episode of the Prog.
