Prog / Re: PROG 1418:The final straw?.......

I think in a way we've forgotten the scale of a Sector really, and also how many there are now as well. After all the culling after the Apocalypse War have we actually had much said about the size of the city? Of course The Pit was supposed to be the outskirts. Maybe the 200 bombs was a clue as to the size of MC1?

A sector could be 50+ miles wide, thats the distance between Cambridge and London, a nuke in London wouldn't affect me atall (initial blast that is). From high up (like the end of last prog's Total War story) you could see a long long way into the distance, who knows how far you can see.

I'm also intruiged by the force fields they put up after the previous nukes. Sounds like an interesting technology we haven't had mentioned before.

Maybe he meant why not get someone to do an animated version rather than spending all that money on a film?

Was there a Titan version? I bought a Fleetway (I think) version of a Tyranny Rex GN the same size as the Crime Files the other day.
I seem to remember Wake classed a similar one (Chronos Carnival) that I bought under US reprints.

I'd include the Vanguard TPB and the first Zenith book on my list of things to get. Especially the Vanguard one, anyone got a copy going spare? Only from one of the cons wasn't it?

Great idea, a definitive list would be very welcome indeed.

There is your Termight list Wake, that sounds more the sort of thing stewartr was meaning.

I must go through that some day and see what else I need to buy. I have taken photos of most of my merchandise stuff if you need photos.

I did get some of the wallpaper borders the other week :)

Realm, Weekly I don't remember but I had the details including the date of the issue, even looked at general collector fairs but never found it.

Mad to think it was there and I missed it, well done for seeing it!
Going to have to take a closer look at some things on there, the problem is theres so much other stuff out there to weed through.

What on earth was it listed under on Ebay?
In the past I've looked for the Womans Weekly the ad was in but never thought of actually looking for the pattern, thought it was the type of emphemeral thing that would have been lost forever, but then I should have known better!

But now I've been made full-time at work I now have more money to fritter away on Ebay so I can now make a push at everything else I want ;)

Well I'd say bid at the last second and just hope it's a higher amount than them.
I'd say most people will be hovering around watching the last minute of something they want and it's sometimes a matter of who can refresh and re-bid the quickest. Having a duplicate window already open with a higher bid ready to submit can be a good tool.
All depends on how much you really want something.

Things that seem rare (and I don't mean things that say RARE in the title as they never are) appear and sell for a good price but then you'll get 4 more of these rare things turning up at once to try and cash in! So if you miss out on something you really want you might be surprised to see a couple coming along right afterwards so always keep searching.

I'd agree with the Paypal reccommendation, get that sorted right away. And only bidding at the last minute if atall possible.

The biggest part of advice that normally gets given is to bid once and bid your maximum. It's all too easy to get carried away in the dying seconds (oh yes) but also have a realistic price in mind. When it's something totally unique, like artwork be prepared to push the boat out. Anything else don't, they'll probably be another one along sooner or later.

The number of times a Dredd Duvet set has been up and I've not had the money to splash out and so got outbid by a small amount has been very annoying to me.

And last thing to agree with Usher, postage, people will rip you off left right and centre if you're not careful but also remember that if it's not thin and flat it will probably cost more to post than you think.

501 feedback just buying over 4 years for me. Now I'm earning more I'm going to bump that up a lot!

That's right. Very good artwork that had. And although racist in a bit it did show us more of that part of the world (like the fact that the entire Middle East had definately been severely nuked out in the Atomic Wars)

I think the use of the several judges was a waste, in this situation you'd normally be faced off against one other city in some sort of diplomatic deal that ends in a picthed battle. It seemed a good idea that wasn't followed through. Best kept for a longer story.

The best use of other judges in a group situation I can think of is the Judges Council during Judgement Day. Now I would love that artwork, I'd really like to get artwork of some other judges uniforms.

It had the fight on the conveyor but it was a better one than Crusade.
And of course that was a battle with a god as well.

It seemed to be a bit short even if it did last a few weeks.
Kind of like a short version of the Dredd goes to Egypt one (I forget the name), with lots less detail and even less reasoning behind it.

I do remember it being very much what some people say about other Judge systems. IE you get the different judges in and then each one is just a racial sterotype.
I'd certainly like to see more of other judge systems, we've seen a lot but theres still more left.

Judgement Day was miles miles better than Inferno in terms of the story. We were lucky to have so much good art for both.
It might sound silly but really Judgement Day is more realistic within Dredd's world than Inferno ever was. Actually had repurcusions as well.

Of course Helter Skelter sucked big time. Huge loss of something that could have been done properly one day, and done much much better.
